  1. Ever have a run, and someone above on the lift gives you a cheer? That run down liftline was fueled solely by the crowd above going nuts the whole way down... Thanks go out to Shaggy, for showing me how to tune up a Madd... I had a great time this week, Cheers to Stephanie for ordering a powder day or two... The stupid windburned grin on my face is proof. Coffee drinks anyone?
  2. Just home from a 6-day trip to Vermont. Killington, Burke and Stratton. I hope my legs come home by the end of the week... Can't wait to get to Big Mtn... I'm ready, bring it on!
  3. I'm just kicking this idea around, but next week I'm thinking of heading down to the SVES.. Waiting to see what the latest weather brings us for christmas....There will be snow, Right Jasen? Anyone else for a road trip?
  4. Hey Ben, I just got Bob Jenny's e-mail, would like to meet you guys on the 17th, Okemo sounds good.. Buggs, you listening? I'll be on snow safari the 15th and 16th also, looking at mt snow then sunday river, dependent on snow conditions of course.
  5. I may have walked out with the last two Speeds that they had. One was a 56 from '02 maybe.. The other left me wondering what the hell I bought untill I looked at the Klug site. The board was marked as a speed 65 but didn't have any topsheet graphics. Just solid black gloss finish with the usual stance and core construction notes. The base graphics have the R17 Addicted 2004... The serial #....000000002. The biggest downside to this board is that the nose is REALLY soft(compared to a 64 alp). The rest of the board seems stiffer.. I won't get a chance to ride it until after the holiday weekend. On a side note, the sales associate tried to switch out the Fish I selected(factory second) with one from the back room already in a bag. Upon inspection the one in the bag had alot more cosmetic damage than the one I wanted.
  6. Thanks for the help. I have an addiction..... Now I need a support group. Two hours after reading the post above, I found myself in Mass. at the factory store handing over my mastercard in exchange for 2 leftover Speeds and a Fish.. This brings the running total to 29 boards. My girlfriend will never understand. I can't wait to mount plates to the Fish and see if it will carve!
  7. Spring was in the air today. It felt like April on the mountain, which fortunately means mandatory grooming for this weekend when everything refreezes....Short boards and sharp edges are on the menu for Saturday...I expect a weekend ride report posted from you guys before sunday night:)
  8. Headed up to Maine Thursday. The warmer temps forecast may keep the snowguns at bay...It'll be a welcome change from yesterday at Killington where gortex and goggle scrapers were mandatory..The good news, lots of snow. The bad, lots of newbies mixed in with the hotshots..don't they read the signs?! Intermediate and advanced terrain only!
  9. Arthur, Just a quick Thank You for the photos..Hope to see you again, maybe in Aspen?
  10. We got into the theater late (after 7pm) last night. never made it for drinks or dinner beforehand. The movie was OK, the crowd fairly lame, not a lot of Vibe in the crowd. Snow in the mountians last night and today, going to K-mart next week! Sorry we missed you.. PS Weasel is a proud new Dad of a little boarder named Cooper!
  11. 7pm tonight see you before the show @ redbones!
  12. Ben, I ride with the rear at a higher angle on my narrow boards.. This stemmed from turning the angles up only untill I didn't get toe/heal drag on each board. The end result is slightly different angles on different boards, the most extreme being the narrow Madd 158. After the first day on snow I found that I needed to widen my Stance width on the boards that I turned the rear bindings up on. The F/R canting combined with my increased rear angle put my knees too close. I hope this helps, think snow!
  13. November will be here soon... Tics for warren miller in Boston are on sale... show on Nov 3rd... Anyone one else headed over?
  14. Hey Shred, I do believe that one night at eces, I may have said something like...."Montana? that sounds great, never been west of K-mart..". Now granted it was said with the help of Dr. Guinness, but you know it still sounds like a great idea! Got room for a seventh? -Paulk
  15. Another big THANK YOU! to Capt. Ray and his family for the great weekend on the Grace Bailey.. The boat, the crew, the scenery, the passengers, all worth the trip to Camden. Thanks again! PaulK.
  16. I got just over a season and a half out of my last pair(fire).. I reply to this because my toe piece also came loose and then fell off... I found that it snapped over the toe of the boot and the screws merely kept the silver piece from shifting. My repair included weatherstrip cement and tape to hold it all together....long story short, two days later I lost the piece , never to be seen again.. Left me stranded with a poor fitted binding and no easy way down..... I'm now the proud new owner of a pair of Deelux boots...world apart from the burtons, fit and feel.. Hope they last at least as long as the burtons did..
