  1. What's new with them? Any noteworthy changes?
  2. Do they all have the 'hybrid' style strap of the NX2 or is therea 'fusion' Version as well? Don't know anyone who likes the hybrid version. Would the straps be identical to the NX2 to frankenstein a fusion spermatic?
  3. Thanks guys, I'll keep an eye on it!
  4. 'Nother season, nother dollar Any news or even experiences with the supermatic? Let's see if I get to see some snow this season...
  5. You did it - CX returned, no boarding this season anywhere near anyways - let's see how this supermatic system will hold up with reviews on the snow. This video of them looks promising, even if I don't understand a word. https://youtu.be/PelS__Oy7hU
  6. So that's a next year preview then? Was already panicking for a second as mine still looked different They call it NX2 CARBON, not CX anymore... As I might not manage to get to board this season - maybe I'll even return my CX and shoot for the next year's model then - you're tempting me!
  7. Update from my end - I bought some '22 Flox NX2 Fusion. with the new straps. They're not perfect for my ride insanos, took me a while to make them harmonize give or take, but now I think they'll work together. Still considerably cheaper as the o-drives. If now only I'd manage to get to ride this season, already see my options waning once more Any other Europeans here longing for snow?
  8. Sounds mixed to me. I feel I'm getting older and more tired easily, meaning with a morning of shredding in my legs already and an afternoon with less well groomed slopes I don't have that much tension and power left to buffer every little bump and think I'd like a bit of padding. Plus with my Oxess BX and the rides insano which are already pretty stiff I'd be worried to overdue it ... Have some Nitro phantom carver in the mail for 230€. Seemed like an ok Deal. Will check them out, bit sadly only in the livingroom for now. Let's see if I keep them out of they already fail there. What's your take on the machine Vs. Phantom carver? Saw a 2020 machine model for the same price - better deal? And what about some 2020 union forced forge? I believe they're also like zero padding? So yeah - keep the ideas coming P.s. like the idea of frankensteining the binding of your choice - if one only knew up front what was compatible. In theory one could check for the best cheap chassis (what would that be?) and add the rest from others as spare parts.
  9. New season, old search as last season way basically not existing and I didn't pull the trigger for anything. Anything new to have a close look at?
  10. Arrived, need to experiment a bit in snow I guess. The ride Insano boot has already a plastic tongue - though with quite a gap on top between outer tongue and liner boot. So on the outside it feels not very effective.
  11. Thanks a lot! Any opinion on the capo and targa by chance?
  12. Some quick Q's as I'm eyeballing bindings again: NOW O-Drive anything worth mentioning that has changed from 17/18 to 19/20? Ratchet and strap padding seem a little different. Anything else? Anyone has checked out both? Found a barely used offer for ~300€ Now Drive: How much less stiff are they compared to the O-Drives? Are they even comparable at all? Nidecker Carbon No info on here - anyone has experience? angry snowboarder reviews it as not that stiff for a carbon one, whitelines sounds rather leaning towards decently stiff Though it has the NOW Straps https://www.angrysnowboarder.com/the-2019-nidecker-carbon-binding-review/ https://whitelines.com/snowboard-gear/reviews/bindings/nidecker-carbon-2019-2020.html Found good deals for Ride Capos (~150€), Nidecker Carbon (~180€), Rome Targa (~200€) and Burton Genesis and NOW Drive (both ~230€) Can you talk me out of the O-Drive and into some of them? Any help much appreciated - would like to finally make a decision after all those failure tests from last season!
  13. sweet - just pulled the trigger. Uta ski gear sells them for a freaking 38$ through amazon.com, also shippig and import to Europe is still affordable, resulting in ~45€ to your doorstep! (hope that's allowed to mention here, otherwise please delete)
  14. Anyone using a booster strap on softboots? Which one to get? World cup right away?
  15. Thanks for the detailed review! I also sport insaos and just saw some cheap capos from 2020 for 150 bucks on sale. As I've tried a few other bindings that didn't convince me I thought I might give them a try. The issues you describe are stopping me a bit though. Anyone else riding them? How are they holding up for you? And also - how about vibrations due to the alloy, @nuisanceIV Thanks!
  16. Just have a 2017 in stock, thx though
  17. Just US and Canada Is there a European distributor?
  18. Nobody? Or everyone already in summer season or practicing digital distancing as well?
  19. Anyone has an opinion on the Drake bindings? The Radar are indicated as stiffest, though the Podium and Super Sport also as rather stiff. https://www.northwave.com/uk-GB-en/Sell_Man_AT1.aspx Rather scarce product description otherwise. Not that they were available^^
  20. Came here to recommend the Insanos as well. Especially toeside make a difference. Tried malamutes against them as well and found them much softer, especially toeside. Others I tried this season (Burton driver X, nitro select tls, northwave Decade) were not boas, though all couldn't convince. The Thraxis was not on my radar, will keep an eye on it. Just reading about the liners - which one would be a good fit for the Insano? There's one thing I'm not 100% happy with and that's my pointy ankle bone against the recess of the padding for the ankle - it sometimes pushes against the hard part of the boot when really cranked down.
  21. Though is that not just because of sponsoring maybe? Any first hand impressions? Sounds more like a medium stiff binding, K2 lists them as 3/5 stiffness, same than the Cinch. Don't know, how stiff they've gotten, but my older Cinch CTS ones are just too soft. Otherwise a lot of bang for the buck on paper: Canted footbed, adjustable toe ramp and dual adjustable toe strap, Highback lean & rotation Though how responsive is it really? There's a Formula C as well, that has a less padded strap, and *drumroll carbon fiber in the chassis. No 2020 version of it obviously - and the 2019 pretty much gone. Wonder, why it's discontinued...
  22. Coming from k2cinch, I tried flow nx2, but the flow system drove me nuts. F2 emiminator carve fastec was nice regarding heelstrap and baseplate, though the highback was a joke for a carving binding. The overall build quality looked puristic, not to say poor. But it's a cheap binding, what can I say. Reading through this it looks like there's hardly a value for money tip around? I don't get to board much anymore sadly, so putting down 500 bucks for bindings doesn't seem reasonable. I'd love a canted footbed - and some angled gas pedal toe section, don't know what to call it. I'm riding an oxess BX boss board with ride Insano boots. Any other bindings to point to? Thx!
