  1. Hey  Massachusetts, I am local to you. I would agree with the above poster on those bindings, as I have a pair, and can see their weak points (were a gift as spare parts to me). I chose not to put them on my kids board for that reason. I don't know much about the board, but Burton and F2 have bindings all over this site and if you ever get hard up, I have an extra Burton set as well. Inexpensive and will prevent a bad day. Post if you are ever up at the White mountains as I would be interested in seeing that thing ride.

  2. My Son is 10 now. He loves hard booting, and GS is his thing. I was blessed last year to have a friend help me with him, and teach him.

We are out of NH and the white mountains are our playground. Last year he took first in his class for EICSL and 16'th in the USASA at Copper. (Fantastic people at the Donek tent, especially Jim) I am now trying to figure the best place to put him for this upcoming season. I am not looking for any favors here with this post, but more just trying to compile all of his options so I can make the best decision.

Waterville has a well known program. They seem to do well in the races and they seem to have good coaches. Their program, however, requires volunteer work, which would prevent me from also racing this year, as my wife and I both work. Loon seems to have a program, but I haven't heard much about it, and it is extremely expensive.

Are their other snowboard teams in near the White Mountains in NH?

Are their coaches / trainers who freelance and who's specialty is hard booting and GS?

I appreciate any advise and I thank all who reply in advance.

  3. Thank you for this video.

I have a 9 year old whom I have spent a number of hours trying to instill this very concept. There have been days where I pulled him from the mountain with the threat of leaving if he didn't use "spacial awareness"... I will say that not all parents or instructors have instilled this, and I thank a well respected name such as yours for pointing this out.

Keep shredding and we all love the videos.

  4. My son started GS racing this year (He's 9). I put him in hard boots and found him (here on Bomber) a A145 board, and he has been ripping it. He has a great mentor who has been training him, and has made great progress due to the training. The issue I am seeing slowly creeping up is mentally, disruptions like this past weekend can play havoc with him and so I think (and have been advised) putting him in a more group atmosphere with team support might be the best for him.

I am wondering if anyone has any advise on which mountains have the best weekend programs and coaching. I don't want to put him in school (weekday grade school) , but can dedicate the weekends and vacations as needed. He is extremely into the sport, and likes the speed of GS / SL / Boardercross so I am looking for a program that isn't focused on the park or freestyle. Any experiences and thoughts are appreciated, as I have looked at Loon and Waterville Valley, and each has there respective advantages and disadvantages....

    Thanks in advance..

  6. This 154 Hot Spot is in great condition.  It has a PTC tune that's hardly been ridden on.  A very nice board for kid who wants to try hardbooting or even a small adult/women.

    $90 + shipping.

I am also interested. What size boots fit this? Can you private msg me and we can do this quickly
