  6. Hi guys, i'm looking for an advice on a workshop that is able to tune edges of my alpine boards (Kessler 177 and 185) in Bay Area. Thanks!
  7. Hi! Me and 2 other carving friends go to Kirkwood (and also Mt. Rose) almost every weekend. So i think we have a high chance to meet you there. We all live in south Bay Area, ping me in facebook https://www.facebook.com/mennanov if you want to carpool or smth
  8. I've been carving in Tahoe for 3 seasons so far, i've tried Kirkwood, Heavenly, Northstar, Mt. Rose. Out of these 4 Mt. Rose is an obvious winner for carving: the runs are wide and the lifts are super fast. It's not as packed as other resorts, relatively short lines at the lifts. I'd say it's a perfect place for carving. Speaking of Epic pass resorts: it is Kirkwood. Not because it is really good, but because it is the best from the worst. Grooming in Kirkwood is the worst i've seen in my life, so be prepared. The lifts are somewhat 30-40 years old :) Northstar: flat runs (except for the Burnout one), too many kids, icy, very long lines at the lifts, parking sucks. Heavenly: long lines, not so many interesting runs for carving, drunk casino weekend "skiers". Mt. Rose has a special offer for Epic pass holders: $100 off the season pass. You can also buy a day pass and if you like it you can apply the price of a day pass to the price of a season pass. Oh, and if you buy it now the season pass works this and the next season too.
  9. I'm looking for a used custom Kessler 180 for a 70-80kg rider. Thanks!
  10. I sent a request to Kessler on Friday's evening to get all the details about this board. Awaiting for the response...
  11. I can give you an approximate shipping price only. USPS calculator gave me a range of $23-36 to ship from 94043 to 83702.
  12. Hi! I'm selling my Kessler 180 which i bought just 2.5 months ago here on bomber (see the post http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/42561-2014-15-custom-kessler-180-4x4-and-upm-400/). I rode it 8 days and unfortunately realized that it's too stiff for my 72 kg :( Read the original selling post from Ernie00 about the extra holes in this board drilled to test an experimental plate: http://forums.bomberonline.com/index.php?/topic/42561-2014-15-custom-kessler-180-4x4-and-upm-400/ I have filled those holes with hermetic, now it's not an issue, they absolutely don't affect the ride. Also i drilled the top sheet to get to the standard holes since i don't have any plate yet :( So the board is 100% ready and does not need any extra work to be done. The board looks as new: tons of edges, no scratches, etc.. I'm selling it for the same $400 as i bought it + shipping.
  13. The steeper the slope the bigger inclination angle you need to close your turns. If the slope is really steep and narrow you have no choice, but have an extreme inclination angle, thus a laid down turn. If we are talking about pure extreme carving, then yes, it is necessary on the steep slopes as it helps to control your speed. Otherwise it is not necessary, but it's so much fun :)
  14. Hi! I've just broken my rear binding :( Any place where I can by it here in Keystone or any other place near by? Thanks!
  15. Could you please post a photo with the edges and a ruler applied to them? Need to know exactly how much edges remains. Also, are you sure i won't need an X-ray to figure out where the wholes for the bindings are? Do they all have these marks? What is the distance between the standard bindings in cm? (measure it from the middle of the square formed by the 4 screw holes to the other binding square middle). Is it a final price?
  16. What an amazing information! Jishaq, thank you very much for your reply!
  17. Yes! :) Nice to see you there!!! I know about the season passes at http://www.snow.com/epic-pass/passes.aspx, but i also may consider buying a season pass at http://skirose.com/season-passes/season-pass-options/ since it has no blackout days. Can't decide which one is better... :(
  18. Hi! I am an extreme carver who moved to Mountain View, CA 4 months ago and i'm looking for the best place to carve there. My plan is to have training sessions almost every weekend coming on Fridays evening and leaving on Sundays evening, so i consider buying a season pass. I have never carved in California before, so i need your advice on that topic. The ideal place for me would have: good grooming, wide slopes, rigid snow (ice is ok) no crowds (the less the better) reasonable price for a ski pass and lodging (lodging can be really cheap, i don't care too much about it) Thank you!
