I love the bindings but am having some knee issues sending me back to softies for a while and need to get a new board. I will ship the next day,and Paypal is preferred, gift or +3% otherwise. 5. Thanks for helping, everyone! 2 pairs of awesome F2's are in the works from the great folks from the community. Have a great Thanksgiving, John
  6. Woo Hooooooooo! Hey there, HillB...hopefully you had a great summer. I've scheduled a few Sundays off too, so I can come up on the more common LCI days. See y'all on Friday.. Have a great day and a Happy Thanksgiving, John
  7. Aloha, LCI folks! Is anyone headed up on Tuesday or Wednesday or Friday??? I'm ususally knocking around about 0730 or so, and should be there the whole day (That Bloody Mary won't drink itself, right?). Think of all the advantages...no singles line, no grumpy skier chair-mates, I'll be learning to ride the Swoard (hilarity is guaranteed to ensue)...c'mon, how could you pass that up? Hope to see y'all there, John
  8. Aloha, everyone! My search for carving nirvana continues, and a nice used pair of F2's will certainly help my bliss. I am also open to a trade (plus cash, if need be) for some used Catek Olympics ('05, I believe..great condition from Monodude) if that suits your needs. I know I could buy new from Ebay, but this set-up is currently 100% BOL community powered and I'm having a great time with that. Thanks.. Have a great weekend, Johnny G
  9. Aloha! I am very interested in the Swoard, would I be able to come and look at it this weekend? I live in Wheat Ridge and am free all weekend and tonight after 7pm. PM sent too... Thanks for your time, John G, 720-670-8064 (edit for PM)
  10. Aloha, everyone! Great news, everybody! After everybody's wonderful help, I decided to grab up a pair of TD-3 Sidewinders. Go Big or Go Home, eh? Really, though, I got to get a day on them before the end and really, really like the ride. Thanks again for your help and wisdom and hopefully I will get the opportunity to help someone else get into this wonderful sport in the future like y'all helped me. Cheers! Many Mahalos, John G
  11. Aloha, everyone! Thanks for the help, y'all. I decided to go All-In and pick up a sexy new (used) pair of TD-3 Sidewinders with Rhino Red Rings. This decision wouldn't have been as easy without the stellar help and advice give by the community. I truly appreciate all of the input given and hopefully will be able to help another in the future. Many Thanks, I am in your debt, John G (anyone up at Loveland next season, love to say Hi to ya!)
  12. Now this is why I love this community so much, everybody is AWESOME! Thanks a million and your input has been invaluable and very appreciated. Well, I think I have enough info to be very, very comfortable picking up a set now. Plates...well, I'm sure those will come into play sometime soon but for now I'm just gonna whoosh around best I can. @ Don~ I will give you a holler Monday if that is good for you. I work late weekends so am kinda tied up. @ HillB~ Aloooooha! I'm sad now, I am scheduled to work all weekend again and won't be up for closing....Grrrrr..(no call outs left until next season). I hope y'all have a whole bunch of fun and lay some trenches for me. Anyone who feels like it please email me or message, I will get back to you as soon as I can. Many Mahalos and smooth slopes to y'all... J
  13. Sage advice, Bryan, thanks! (and thanks to everyone else posting too) I hope I am not worrying too much (probably are), mostly it is just making sure that TD's are the way to go. One of my big issues is I have to get the bindings before the Mistress of Finances lays the hammer down and redistributes our wealth like the past couple of seasons, hehehehe. My gut is telling me that TD's are the way to go but I am at the level with hard boots where I really cant tell the difference between bindings yet. Both the TD's and the Virus' I have tried felt identical, although the lack of foot pain from softies probably overshadowed any differences, I would think. Weirdly enough, I can't wait for the Slap Down...then I know I'm learning something new and having Fun. Yep, just a pretty happy, go-lucky guy, I guess, every day on the mountain is The Best Day Ever. The only crappy thing I can find about carvin' is that I work Fri, Sat and Sun and won't really get to ride that much with Big Mario and the other LCI folks, but for the weekday folks "Bring it On!" Much Mahalo, J
  14. Thanks for the input, Neil and Tex. The only binding I have ever ridden has been TD's so I am kinda partial to them to begin with. It was an easy decision initially and folks here have made me some very, very good offers (thanks, y'all) and then...Boom...I read too much and seem to have confused myself. I think it is the adage of having a flexy variable in the boot, binding, board equation that is messing me up. Uhhh, are Heads considered stiff boots? J
  15. Aloha, GroupMind! I would appreciate any help or knowledge with the purchase of some bindings. Obviously I'm new to this whole Hard Boot thing and am getting more and more confused with equipment, the "I just know enough to get into trouble" time of learning, to be exact. I'm 210# and have been soft boot carvin' for a few years and have finally acquired some 29mp Head Stratos Pro boots. I am more into the freecarvey style and not really a GS kinda guy, if that makes a difference. I don't yet have a board yet but that is going to be determined by how much I spend on bindings (Aloha, Monoduuuuude! gonna talk to you soon, thanks) So, what are the things I should be looking for? Stiff binding and soft board, softer binding and stiff board or just not worry about it yet??? I was going for some TD's but have been directed away from them by a couple of folks towards a flexier binding like the F2 Carves (not sure if it's a shop rivalry thing, I kinda think it is). Now, I'm just confused again. Thanks for any help y'all can provide and see you soon on the slopes, John G
  16. Woo HOO! Thanks for the advice BlueB and I will take it. That sounds great Bryan, I am looking for standard for right now. The cant thing I will have to research and figure out, I am heading up to talk to a few folks tomorrow and should have some idea then. Thanks everyone, I now will have 2 out of the three...on to getting a board.
  17. Hey-o, everybody! Any help would be appreciated in my next step joining the Hard Boot community. The boots have been decided upon (thanks Jim!) and now I am in need of a pair of TD1, TD 2's or any equivalent binding. As you probably have noticed, I'm new to this stuff and would appreciate any discussion on the purchase of some bindings as well. I am about 200# (29 mondo) and a rather aggressive soft boot carver but don't yet have a board either. They will go on my NS Titan until I can get fully set up and, heck, I probably will still ride it with plates afterwards too. Thanks for looking and any discussion or knowldege you feel willing to give. Carve Casual...
  18. Hey-o! Nice to meet ya too, Lady! Thanks again, Jim. I tried on some UPZ's and they did not fit at all. Figured out the Head Stratos Pro was the one for me from the awesome article and some experimentation (a perfect fit actually, yaay!). I will chat at y'all soon about getting a pair for next season. (Can I delete this thread somehow or just let it die?) Carve Casual...
  19. Thanks Jim for busting out with the Science, I wish I had seen that in the first place, hehehehe. I guess I will have to reevaluate my thinking some. Seems like it's time to make another trip up to Bomber for some expert advice. Thanks again!
  20. Aloha everybody! I'm looking for a pair of UPZ RC10's in 28.5. This is for a first set of hard boots and I am fairly confident from conversations with the community (and a 110mm wide foot) the UPZ is going to be the only boot that will fit comfortably. Additional knowledge or discussion is always welcome. Thanks for looking and see y'all out on the slopes, Cheers.
