Any news for an intec step in system for these boots?

I've seen it's been talked about for at least 4 years now. Would be cool if they had it.

Thanks for asking. We will not be making an intect system but we are working on a step-in binding solution.

anyone know how to properly swap(remove and install) the tongue on MS951 boots?

i see tabs but afraid i might break it with my 2 left hands.

Push the tongue towards the toe like I show in the picture. Then wiggle gently left and right down below towards you to pull it out over the lip

WOW!! May I know what size is the S-Shell? Does it equal to A-Shell minus 1.5cm?

In addition, do you have a plan to produce a super soft tongue for extremecarving/carving people?

Honestly, you're the first person who's asked for that. We have soft green springs, the softest tongue is 100 Flex. Have you tried those 2 things yet?

YES!  Curious Minds Want To Know!  -  When are we going to see the before mentioned  Step-In Heel option in the MS lineup.....?????

When we get funding for it 😅 We have just finished the S-Shell (smaller than A-Shell) and will be testing shortly.

Yup…..including our 13% sales tax & broker shipping fees charged as it’s going through customs.

I’m selling it to the wife just like you have…workin so far, but fingers crossed they actually fit my feet when they arrive!! Having to spend hundreds more on bootfitting or liner swaps will be pretty dispiriting, but hey that’s kind of our sport ain’t it….

Eh, maybe it’s just karma for saving a couple bucks on Coilers by having Bruce nearby. 😝

Let us know if you have any questions or need any help

Has anyone punched out their .951s? I just got a pair of these boots and instantly fell in love with the heel lock and extremely supportive cuff. Unfortunately my feet are quite wide and will need at least my rear foot punched out around my small tailor's bunion, was a problem in my 700Ts and I fully expected to run into the same issue in these boots. Just want to make sure there isn't anything too special about the plastic before I give the green light for a fitter to start punching out these very expensive boots.

Tagging @MountainSlope in case they have any input on working with the shells (RD130).

Hi Jarcode, thanks for your message. Mr. E is correct. Our boots are Grilamid. Which shell size do you have? How wide are your feet? We suggest you stand in the shells without any liner. Are your feet too wide just standing in the shells? If not, then it would be better to work with a thinner liner before strething or milling the shells. If your feet are too wide, have you tried one shell size larger? Hope this helps.

This is a question for the @MountainSlope Crew or anyone in the know.

Years ago, when Mountain Slopes were new to alpine and just released, there was a thread that discussed the possibility of a Mountain Slope Step in bindings .... with out a heel piece.

At the time it was loose talk of a future binding development once their boots were established.  Seems like a bunch of years and a lot of Mountain Slope Boots in the Olympics has passed … any chance of seeing bindings from this company?

    Cheers

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

Thanks for the question. We're currently working on other projects. I will post an update if and when we release any kind of new binding. For the last few years, we've branded F2 Titanium while working on other projects.

19 km tunnel, they use trains to shuttle cars and truck through it.  Heinz thought that footage would be a good way to open and close the video.  I like how it worked out.

The Vereina Tunnel between Engadin and Davos. TheFlülapass is closed during the winter. I think it is a great addition to your video!

Got it, will definitely avoid the first-gen liner. In reading this thread I think a couple people mentioned that problem but having no issues with the second version.

That's right. Our first liner is good for people with narrow feet. The newer liners are roomier and have additional spacers included for better fitting. All of our liners are thermo liners which can be heated for inproved fitting. The first liner was only used for the very first boot in season 2018.

Thanks! That was really interesting! Honestly, we don't know anything about Burton in China... What they produce there, how they treat their exployees, how much they are paid. It seemed like the interviewer (at the beginning anyways) was trying to throw Burton into the fire to support the protests for Olympics in China. I truly believe Burton can do what they can to help people there and make it a better place. Nobody should assume they are involved in or supporting any kind of human suffering. We're really excited to see the snowboarding events in 2 weeks!

very interesting....  What boots do you currently ride with (high instep)?

Would be nice to have an encyclopedia/mapping of foot/shape to brand of boots.

a decade later; i am still confuse when it comes to boots

Funny you mention that! I stumbled upon a video Fin made years ago regarding this exact topic. He had a bunch of charts and comparisons. It was pretty well done! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH000q_I-ZE

  12. One other option for very high arches

You can take out the shell insole and the heel can be milled down 2mm or so  (only in extreme cases such as yours)

If it breaks, then it can easily be replaced and doesn't damage the boot because it is a seperate part of the boot.

Also, feel free to send a picture of your foot in the shell so we can get a better understanding of your situation.

    Hope this helps.

    Greetings Jennifer

  13. Hey David,

Please can we talk to you before you make such a drastic decision?

It would be great if we can help you!

HR also has very high arches so he knows this problem very well and has a few tips for you.

First, Did you take out all the extra insoles inside the liner (usually there are 2) ?

(Stand in the boot (with liner in the boot) leave the boot open so we can see the fit... take a picture from the side so we can see the height of the arch)

I know bomber used to sell boots. Where can i buy new boots?

My current pair hit end of life a few years ago. But using blind nuts, washers, nuts and bolts I have extended the life span but its time to put them out to pasture

    Thanks

I remember that Donek bought up the old Bomber stock and now sells Deeluxe boots.

Bola in Boulder, CO carries our boots if you're interested in buying Mountain Slope boots.

Good luck in your search for new hardboots!

The new improved liner with MS is reportedly much better.

Our very first liner was a thermo liner which was a very tight fit and worked best with thinner feet.

It worked really well for some athletes (in the beginning, most of our customers were the World Cup riders as we were new on the market in 2017/2018) Ramona Hofmeister won bronze at the Olympics riding our standard liner.

That being said, it didn't fit wider feet or high instep feet. This is why our newer liners are roomier and come with extra insoles for better fitting.

  16. Thanks for your questions and interest in our boot.

HR (the developer) also has a very high instep. He uses our standard liner and has also used the bootdoc injection liners.

If you are 10.5 then a more accurate measurement is needed because this is between size C and D.

We usually suggest people to measure with their foot up against a wall standing on a ruler from heel to longest toe on both feet. The measurement in mm will give us your exact mondo size.

And to answer your original question "Why do so many professional athletes use our boots? The performance, setting options and comfort.

If you have any other questions. Let us know.

    Greetings Jennifer
