  1. Have been carving for 1 1/2 seasons and am in love. Few carvers around here to help me out.

Am having a lpt of heelside chatter and cannot seem to resolve it on my own. Any help?

You probably will, resolve it on your own. It's mostly time you need and one day, it will click and your heel side will hook without chatter. But, it could also be equipment, maybe. I assume you don't have any boot overhang.

I will be back in LA at the end of the month and heading up to Summit for sure (if the snow is still ok), so we could meet and go ride together...

Ride ride ride turn after turn after turn........

  2. I made one run there this season just to have look.

Tim,Ray have you guys been riding?

I saw Thomas last week and two other carvers at mammoth.

    Frank

Frank, no, I have not been in Mammoth or June... We just went back to Aspen and will spend some time here. I am glad I made that decision!!!... But, was planning to go to June in March several times. Well, maybe it will be MM now... Hmm, sad. I really hate MM these days, just to crowded for a good laid out turn. Maybe a day during the week up in Snow Summit will do it as well. Will see.

  3. I have to admit, my favorite watch still is the Rolex Daytona Stainless Steel. Even more like the vintage ones…, but much more expensive as well.

Breitling in my opinion makes fantastic watches as well. I think personal taste and budget plays a major role here.

I would not buy a replica, ever. I’d rather admit to myself that I can’t afford it at this time… but that’s also just a personal thing.

  4. Quite simple in my opinion. The shorter the board, the more skills and technique is required…

When ever I go back to a short board I remember to really use skills, while riding something longer relaxes immensely. But I think it also turns down the level of aggressiveness extremely. I see many people riding very long boards and doing nice long clean cut turns, but somehow missing this extra bite I like so much. It’s like missing the salt in the soup. Just my observation and personal taste. Maybe that’s also because these big boards weigh so much. I don’t know…

Anyway, I think, master your skills on a short board and you are the hero on a long plank ;)

  5. Ray: I should be up there that weekend. I would like to take a look at that Virus you have for sale if you bring it with you. :)

Oh, that is already sold. These puppies sell in a matter of hours these days...

Ray, we're looking at those dates will stay in touch and let's get the crew together. aloha

Keep ya posted how things go. I want more snow...

  6. Prior to that the snow was getting perfect for carving. Now it is just too soft! Was out at Buttermilk yesterday - great soft snow for skiing, just had to be a little cautious laying out an aggressive carve.

Yea Todd, it needs to snow now while we are gone so when we come back at end of the month it's all down and we have nothing but sunshine in Feb. especially during the SES. :)

  7. What's the scoop on the Flo liners? Are they any good? Do these come with any extra heels or the ski adapters? Are there any new features with the 06/07's or just purely cosmetic stuff? Have these been T-nutted to address the safety issues or is that what the stainless screws were for?

I never used the orig liner, so I can’t tell (I ride all my boots with foam injected liners), but lot’s of people in Europe use them and seem quite happy. Always personal opinion. Many people also ride them with Thermo Flex liners...

The shell form did not change from last year. They use a slightly softer plastic this year it seems… No, not T-nutted. Only some rivets got exchanged with screws.
