  1. Ok my old lady is going to let me borrow her new car (that I just put a board rack on) and gets substantially better mileage than my diesel. I'm still a little scared letting her drive my 3/4 ton but she should be fine. So I would love to come ride with you and may be driving up by myself! I read some of your other posts and realized you have been snowboarding longer than I have been alive (born in '84) so it would be a great experience for me. lunch on me(if you bother taking one) if you still have the pass.:biggthump

  2. Troy where were ya Friday! I talked to Russ, good to finally meet another hardbooter, really nice guy. He gave me your digits and I called and left a message for ya. I had a breakthrough carving day, mostly rode vagabond on the backside all day. The steeper runs are still hard for me though. I raised my angles to 65/60 and the carves came easier but damn did it kill my quads for the next few days!

  3. Got the full beard in effect. Once it ices up seems to provide good insulation. Might have to skip the helmet so I can use my hood or I might see if I can wear it under the helmet. Got silk undies. Will be trying some new hardboots with a very snug fit and ultra thin socks. That might be my downfall. The antipersperant might do the trick. Thanks for all the advice :biggthump Will see how it goes. Worried about my son the most. I guess he could quit practice early if it gets to bad for him. I'll just go to the little cabin with the wood stove and fully stocked bar to get out of the cold. It's right down from the run with the mogles course. He knows where to find me :p

your joking right? Big thumbs down on that one buddy! they make skull caps that are thin on top for the helmet and fleece on the sides to cover your ears, they are also available in full face designs.

  4. because the groom if often perfect for carving at those temps, and everyone else is taking your advise, and staying away.

    +1

I love crappy weather, keeps the pansies off the mountain so I have some room to carve finally and not have some frickin two planker trying to use me as a flag. :AR15firin

  5. I was just starting my run when a guy pointed and yelled from a chair ( about 25 yds away), "Monoboarder!!!!!" @ bluewood mountain. I just laughed and gave him a thumbs up. :smashfrea

a lifty at Shweitzer, "sick prior man, are those TD2s?" he was the first person I have encountered that knew what he was talking about.

bombing down a cat track, another guy was riding goofy on a freestyle board so we were facing eachother, "dude, I want one of those boards, where did you get that." of course I told him about BOL!

And several people have asked, why is that board so skinny, is it fast? my brother likes to cut me off before I can say anything and say, "he's still stuck in the 1980's!!!" then I laugh and tell him he is stuck in first gear and procede to smoke him down the mountain at will. :biggthump

  6. Didn't mean to take the thread down a wrong turn. I find the legal stuff (at least from a theoretical perspective) pretty fascinating--and POTENTIALLY HELPFUL TO KNOW.

Bottom line--I'm glad more people weren't hurt and I hope that those that were heal soon and have the fire to ride/ski again.

    ......exactly. :biggthump

  7. Not that I'm recommending legal action against a resort - but you appear to be skating over deep, dark water.

first off, To Jack and family, thank God your alright. But I always thought the moment you bought a lift ticket/season pass it is the same as signing a liability waiver? maybe not in extreme cases such as this. When I went buddy jump sky diving, I signed a release that nobody gets to sue if the parachute doesn't open, etc. Should the resort be held responsible for an accident like this if it really is poor maintenance and such, absolutely...but it's going to be one hell of a legal battle.
