Bobby,
I was wonderinf are these SB or AF If that is the right models. or do they have 3 position or five.
Also If I put a BTS on them will the red springs be wayyy to stiff for the boots. I am over 200 and want the boots but an trying to figure out how flexy the shells are.
had a used pair of UPZ for one day before I cracked both heels so I am in the market.
Thanks

If you edit your origional posting to read sold in the first line then we dont need to open and scroll to lean the story.
thx

Looks like the OS2 black are back on the market

Roy,
Thanks for the kind words. My put here is, we as a community I think have identified a real flaw in the equipment and I am wondering what manufactures are going to do about it.
I think that maybe we have become too used to having boots crack.
It seems like UPZ a lot but others also are suffering from the exact type and area of product failure.
Ok maybe this amounts to venting but I think that maybe the word will get back to them even if it is for product that is out of manufacture warranty

On the one hand we need to be aware of operator error (way over tightening the bindings) (a definition would be handy).
On the other hand since TD and Catek use discreet holes for adjustments it sems like one too loose (sloppy fit), next too tight (see B&W photos above) IMO the boot manufacturer's should build these expensive specialty boots stronger in these known areas of failure.
It seems that the outside area of the heel above the binding bail is where 3 standard deviations of all cracking seems to be occurring. Humm planned obsolescence?
One mans opinion
-
I wanted to try a lift to the bindings so I did what we all have done. I researched and then found Billy Bordy's DIY video but could not find the template he mentioned.
So I just followed the sides of my board.
For Cateks a 3/8 inch spacer used 6 x 25 mm flathead SS screws. For 1/2 inch spacer I am planning on useding 6 x 30 mm flathead SS screws. shorter screws will fit but as noted earlier, I wanted to have as many threads as possible because of the increased load on the screws when the board decambers.
One trick I found was to use the baseplates to mark (and here is the important part) and drill them before marking the plates (and cutting) flush with the sides of the board.

dibs on the blue + extra plates + extra pads

Howdy all,
I have one too meny hard core GS boards so this Volkl RennTiger is going.
So you want POP do ya? Well this one is to be respected, she is stiff.
I have used Ray's way to strcture the base and check it for flatness, I have also tuned the edges to 1*B and 88* edges plus no repairs were needed to the base or edges. Has a storage coat of wax on it so unless your first race is for money just go ride it.

I have a 168 Metal RennTiger. You can see the metal top sheet under the protective layer (from the side, not on the top) and also "Powered by Titanium" is written on the tail.
I used Rays way to structure and flatten the base, the edges have been sharpened to 2* and a storage wax has been applied so she is ready to ride. I dont know what year it is but I do know that this board has not been ridden in the last three (3) seasons.
This is a very light weight board.
First one to pay pal $245 (shipped to lower 48) to (ronin042 at netzero dot net) with shipping info will be the lucky winner.
Or make me an offer $$$ or trade.

I have flexed it as compaired to other boards I have and boy howdy it is as stiff as an old renntiger 183. Yes lots of stuff can go into an estimate but thats what I am thinking.

SOLD
As a data point this board sold for $233.51 plus $29 for shipping.
Ok BOL folks, I have a 168 Metal RennTiger. You can see the metal sheet under the top layer (on the side, not on the top) and also "Powered by Titanium" is written on the tail.
I used Rays way to structure and flatten the base, the edges have been sharpened to 2* and a storage wax have been applied so she is ready to ride. I dont know what year this is but I do know tha this board has not been ridden in 3 seasons.
This is a very light board and is probably too soft for me. Let me know what it is worth to one (or more) of you?

...SOLD...
Dear BOL folk. I have noticed that some of the postings for sale are hard to respond to, so to make it easier I will leave my email at the bottom plus I believe my PM works.
OK here is the deal. I have a 173 BJ Slater /BS race boards/ Liberation Sports that is just too stiff for me.
The Good news: This board appears to never have been ridden there are no binding marks and the Camber is 11 mm+ on the floor and a whopping 32mm+ if against a wall. The edges are perfect, the deck is perfect using Rays way I checked the flatness of the base not concave not convex. and put a wax on it so it is ready to go.
The less then Great News: I would call this unused as opposed to new. It looks like there are a few factory blemishes.
#1 The Top sheet has what I will call a wrinkly in the red circle around the L about 1 inch long.
#2 The base right at the very back near the tail has three concave recesses where the base was pulled up into the board as it cooled. see their photo but I know it is almost impossible to see. So I don't recommend this board to anyone earning a living by going fast. for the rest of us we will never notice it.
#3 in the base I flat about a small (quarter sized bump) that was in the red circle around the L in the nose, again one can see where it was in person but not in these photos.
#4 the sidewall on the left side looks like it did not come out of the mold cleanly no core showing but not new either.
So there it is a way fast very stiff 173 GS board that has never been ridden and is completely ready to be pushed hard.
Something is worth what you can sell it for: community make me an offer!
