  1. I think the OP was about courses and not speeds. Snowboard races have been held on real downhill courses in the past. They were scary to watch but I must agree the falls were less scary than ski falls. Dog Coughlin was a favorite of mine to watch, and Doug Lewis, ex- Olympic ski downhiller, perfected snowboard downhill for a short time in wind tunnel testing and FIS downhill courses. I have read that they were discontinued due to insurance considerations which is a shame. Snowboard downhill was a great event to watch and yes, many were held on FIS ski downhill courses.
  2. I feel that hips should be dynamic when riding and allowed to rotate. Most riders rotate their hips more than they will admit to doing.
  3. I agree with s.orecchio. Burton gloms on to ideas from other makers and then patents them for their own.
  4. I ride Donner most of the time. Do you still ride there? I am in NYC for a few weeks with work though.
  5. I am at CUNY through March. Mt. Peter appears to be very close to NY. Are there any other carvers there?
  6. you dont need to square your hips over the board to angulate
  7. if i have those anatomical lines parallel to the slope of the hill below me i wont turn. think about it. you are trying to lock yourself up too much. relax and ride smoother
  8. dont worry about patting the dog.think about your feet not your hands
  9. Why worry about facing forward?
  10. What do you mean by square your hips? You mean in the intended direction of travel, or over just square over the edges, or over your stance?
