  1. Right now I'm running and going to aerobics classes a few times a week and doing some cycling (pendant upon my study schedule :( -- stupid engineering). Over the summer I did a fair amount of yoga and started slacklining as well. My favorite exercise for the season is to ride my road bike into the mountains and up passes or canyons.
  2. Yeah, and it looks like the older thread where someone grinded down the heel pad to make them fit better--the heel bail is angled too far forward at the height of the boot knotch to have a solid connection.
  3. Good thing I have size 29 boots then haha. :) But a standard setup with TD3's should not have issues? That's good.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I figured I would have to t-nut the toe since the interface with the binding isn't on the body of the boot itself. Also, in regard to bindings, I'm in the process of upgrading from some TD1's (and knew before buying the boots of the interface problem with the heel), and haven't heard of any other bindings with UPZ compatibility. Does anybody know differently? I'm probably going to head up to AllBoardsSports this weekend or sometime soon and see if they have any good deals on some. But right now I'm kind of thinking about the F2 Race Titaniums or some TD2/3's.
  5. In perfect timing with the commencing snow here in Colorado, I received my new UPZ RTR boots! I am sooo excited, they fit well just around the house, I think I'm going to like them a lot. A couple questions... 1)It seems most of the threads about t-nutting the toe/heel pads are from older models, is this still necessary? 2)Additionally, it seems pretty much all the t-nutting that I could find was used with step-in systems, if I plan on just using standard bindings is it still necessary? Sorry for the crappy mobile phone picture, I can't find my digi cam right now.
  6. Definitely! I only started hardbooting halfway through last season so I for sure am planning on becoming a lot more involved. I don't exactly know what the season will look like for me though, since tentatively I'm planning on studying abroad in Grenoble, FR for the spring if I can get the finances in line. I have another friend here at Mines with me that I'm sure would be interested as well.
  7. We had a dusting maybe 500-1000ft above Golden (so maybe 6500ft?) along Lookout Mountain and the foothills around here! It won't be long now!!!
  8. I don't really have anything particular in mind, but I'm thinking a slalom or all mountain board would be a fun addition to my quiver. Like a 160-165 or something in that range, with nothing more than a 9m or so scr, and the cheaper the better. The board will pretty much only be used just fooling around with my soft-boot friends on groomers who are somewhat novice/intermediate skiers and boarders.
  9. Definitely not as nice as the Catek's, but I've enjoyed my Ride SPi's for the past several seasons. Lateral flexibility is sufficient for fast mogul riding but stiff enough for all mountain stuff. They match up well to my DriverX and Arbor Roundhouse. Or at least, I haven't ridden anything better yet :), and they're like $200ish last time I checked.
  10. I'm 20 and just actually had my first day on hardboots today! I've been snowboarding for ten years and one of my friends at school got into it, so I've been eying it out for the past several years and finally had enough money to get a nice used setup. Sooo much fun so far!
  11. If you were to part it out I'd be interested in the bindings. Let me know :)
  12. If that falls through I'll take them and can send PayPal :)
