  1. Ben- Drop me a line, and take the short trip up into the berkshires...I'll ride with you, and give you some help... BTW...I too work for beer (isn't that the same as cash????) -Noah
  2. Bob skinners ski and sport, Newbury NH. (on the traffic circle at the base of Mt. Sunapee) Jeff Bokum does boot Fitting there, and does a great job. He has experience working withthe Raichle Snowboard boots, the Proctor academy team uses him, and I did too. depends on how much work he needs to do to get you dialed in, but is reasonable for a good fit.

I'll Echo the sentiment about the RT 168SL... What a board, and boy does it finish well...

  5. we will hook you up out at Bousquet. You will probably get two or three instructors, tagging along. It may not be so much of a lesson as a group ride/open forum, But us instructors would love to be told to get out there and get paid to carve for a change... -Noah

    Torn ACL

Rob- How long ago was that? Another option is the dead-guy graft. That's right, they take a ligament from a dead guy and insert that for the new ligament. There is a chance of rejection, but the advantage is no damage to other parts of your own body (hamstring or PT). Personally, I couldn't stomach the idea, and feard rejection, But I have friends who did it, and the rehab is much shorter. Most of the rehab is repaing the hamstring or Tendon, Not worrying about the graft healing (about 6 weeks if I recall) One more thing- Start working out NOW! Rehab is much quicker if you go in with a good base. -Noah

    Torn ACL

And another thing - In terms of strengthening, Leg extensions (i.e being in a seated position, and exending the leg to straight in front of you) Put the ACL at a disadvantage. better to do leg press, or squats (but not too deep) -NBC

    Torn ACL

I completely tore my rear leg ACL in 2000. Rode '01 with a brace (CTI2) then rode brace free for '02. I had My surgery done (Dr. Moran, Concord Orthopedics, Concord NH; He did several USST bump skiers knees) about 3 month after the injury and missed the best season NH had had in ages while in rehab (after which I needed a different type of rehab - it sucks spending a whole winter in the bar while everyone comes in covered in powder, grinning from ear to ear). anyway, I went with a Patellar Tendon Graft, due to chronically tight hamstrings, and the knee is now rock solid. I did get my 2nd opinion though, and he concurred immediately. Rehab Sucks, but you should definitely run the entire course of treatment and continue strgthening after. No problem with the rear leg powering through turns, or anything like that. Good luck!
  10. I am anticipating the team from Bousquet out there, provided we get the interest...
  11. my name is noah...and I too am a quiverous maximaholic... do I count my skis as 1 board or two? I assume soft boards count? what about the teleboard? too thin to be a board, to fat to be a ski...and telemark bindingd to boot? Somedays I even like to slide down the hill in Tyvek suit... Cant wait for snow...
  12. Eddie- I found myself in a similar situation once, with too much forward cant. the result was that my back was locking out when I went to my heelside, and I kept slipping the turns. I knew something was wrong, but it took another person to see the problem. I'm not sure whow you are set up, but try lifting the front toe of the Catek, and the rear heel; Cant them both towards the center, and keep your stance width in the same place for now. -Noah
  13. Giro nine.9 helmet or Marker M3 (both have removable earflaps and are very well vented. Giro has vent plugs, but I never use them. Body armour only used in the gates

    Evolution

so for ****s and giggles... at the end of last year, We went into the basement and managed to put together an old elite, complete withthe skeg, but not the webbing bindings. took it out for a spin. What a trip. I never rode one back in the day, but it was cool to see where the sport came from. We also told a kid that it was a burton prototype for next year, and sent him out it for a review. despite struggling and finnally teaching himself hop turns he said he loved it. I guess that explains why we're all here... Arc it or Park it... -Noah
  18. hey mirror- got any more info about that WPI gig? I could easily be tempted by that... -Noah
