  1. me too! many of us get better after 35! while I doubted your friend is 70 ais, but if a seventy year old can learn, Your boy has no excuse!
  2. Take him to Pittsfield, get him a private lesson from George Merz at Bousquet. George is almost 70 years old, started boarding about 15 years ago. he'll understand the age issues. Furthermore he is a Level 2 AASI instructor, and very good. the mountain is small and manageble. while you're there, you should take a lesson from his son James...

  4. I have a friend who needs to get rid of a 1.5 year old male named Chuck. I am really close to adopting him myself because I don't want to see him go to a shelter, but it really is not the best time for take such a wonderful beast... He is in Pittsfield, MA
  5. man up and race USASA. Then you'll have a great excuse to take a week in copper in April!
  6. does this mean we will see you at some races this winter?!?!?
  7. under a rock...under a wedding, under a relocation, and under a job search. Wife moved me to Bridgeport CT right after the wedding. for some reason I keep getting further away from mountains as for angie and Jim, Since I've never met either of them, I suppose its not that surprising that I didn't know. Does that have anything to do with why Angie moved west, or was Jim a consequence of that move?
  8. Angie and Jim...This is news to me. Guess this is what I get for never making it to the SES... Congrats guys!
  9. Thanks... say it so...this made it to page 2????
  10. I love my Palmer Crown...performs well everywhere.
  11. well...despite my call to elope, I'd say do the wedding. Even though I didn't talk to anyone for more than a few moments, It was the best night of my life. We had a blast! Now off to Bermuda for a week!

  14. than at the office. She'll have plenty of time to show off. at least take her out to a nice lunch. you can surprise her with more than the ring, plan a getaway weekend to someplace she'd love, or an event that fits your personalities! I took her awar for days of "Us" time to a B&B in VT, and planned to propose at dinner at a little restaurant that is a favorite of ours. that plan was foiled by Illness, she got sick at the table and we had to leave. I planned to do it on the slopes the next day, but the conditions were pretty succky, and she was mostly out of her comfort zone on the trails with nice views and few people. by then I was dying to get it out of my pocket, so I did it back in the room before we went out for dinner on night 2. The final proposal was not all that romantic, but I got a great story!
  15. ended sunday with great day of riding for myself (for a change) at A- Basin after a week of work at USASA Nationals...
  16. michelle... sorry we missed you this year at nationals. thought of you when we were having dinner at Farleys! custom topsheet = steve fleck! give me a shout if you need contact info...
  17. My understanding is that there will be some funding for some elite level athletes, and that USSA will continue to support RTTC and Nor-Am races. There won't be a coach, Wax tech, or camps. In reality, This may turn out to better for the athletes. I am exploring what can be done to expand upon the support USASA gives (via the Pac-Sun Team) to alpine athletes who do not meet the criteria for support from USSA. The biggest obstacle is finding a significant sponsor ($25K-$50K) who believes in alpine enough to fund it. feel free to PM me any ideas or contacts.
  18. Great racing up on the GS course. Highlight was Alexa showing all of the ruggies and groms how it is done:
  19. and speaking of people we want to see on the podium at USASA Nationals!
  20. way to go scott...Now follow it up with a little USASA Glory!
  21. the outcome of any move on a snowboard is based on Timing, Intensity and duration. Long gentle turns are begotten by a long gentle move over a longer time. short snappy turns use a faster more powerful move, play with the TID of your turning moves to vary turn radius...
  22. A lot has changed since you competed, sinecure... The SD can nominate the series champion, and the second place finisher as his alternate. after that, there is a national ranking list. the field gets filled from that list. the days of "wildcards" are long gone, and petitions need to be backed with historical data to justify a spot, and doctors documentation of injury. Other than that, pretty tough to get in. King - If its only Slalom you got in for you should still come. you can learn a lot up at the top of the course, meet some coaches, find out about programs, and gage your level of riding. Additionally, you can volunteer to forerun either course, after your competition is over. PM me your name, I'll look at where you stand on the NRL, and give you my opinion on the liklihood getting a GS bid as well... -Noah
  23. Thanks MJB - Its like you skipped right over my earlier post...Ski Ward. Better name - we are now part of the zero G snowboard and freeski team. even though we are trying to build up G's ...what can I say - the freestyle angle attracts more riders. then we convert 'em
