  1. Looks like I may finally have to stop being the contrarian who rides MH..
  2. Mine hurt like **** to have in. My ankle and the fracture point felt better 5 minutes after the surgery than they have in the last year. I can't believe people actually hardboot with these things in. If you get yours out, you'll be amazed at how clambaked the rod's construction is for the thousands it costs. Fin could teach them a thing or two about machining.. I definitely had movement with mine, I'll to whip out the DSLR but there is a patch of the anodizing that is gone from movement. The nail removal is actually supposed to be a fairly mellow operation if yours was capped and set correctly. I guess mine was set way too deep and had a ton of bone growth on the threads. The orthopedist wasn't happy with the surgeon who placed it. I'm surprised that the Mammoth surgeon doesn't do every single tibial nail perfectly with his ski town tenure. Chances are yours is a Stryker or a Synthes, both of which are titanium and blue. Stryker makes some nice gurneys too.
  3. I wish I didn't get to see C7 tail lights :(
  4. The C7 is like a girl you never want to see walk away...gorgeous face, awful ass.
  5. I hadn't been able to run since mine was placed, way too much pain at the knee and lower screws. I did some soft booting with it in but was greatly limited. Mine was apparently one of the worst my ortho had done because it was set so deep and the placing surgeon hadn't threaded on some accessory cap to the nail to make removal easier. I don't know if I've ever had a doctor apologize to me before :lol:My ankle and the fracture point feel great already, there weird stiffness and aching I had are completely gone. He said that I could expect to feel like it never even happened with how much bone growth I had on the portal for the rod. The knee pain is still very bad, but I was able to walk with full weight bearing the day after the surgery. I was still on crutches until day five, now I'm just limping around. I'm not sure what your experience was like, but it's about as much pain as you experience after doing something stupid with the rod in. Here's a very good first-person video of the surgery I found on youtube.
  6. First post on here in a looooong time... Hey Jerry, good to hear you're getting fixed up. I just got this sucker pulled out last week. It feels like the satisfaction of getting a really bad sliver out.
  7. Hey guys, I just had this done last week. Who is ready for Mountain High 2015?!
  8. Im headed up tomorrow to do some falling leafs down the middle of chisolm and sit on some landings at MH. I haven't ridden since my leg break, so ill be in softies. Anyone else riding?
  9. Not even worth exercising your MVP up here. Summer is still in full force. Bleh.
  10. Hey, there were a few days I strayed away from the beginners area! ;)
  11. Rock on dude!! it was hugely inspirational to read your post. Im moving back to San Diego in December. After going through a Lymphoma scare and my tib/fib break I got very interested in the medical field, and am just about done with an EMT course up here in Mammoth. Im going to keep going to school and knock out the prereqs for paramedic school which include working as an emt for a year. My tib/fib nail is being a total pain in the ass so I dont really have any plans to ride for this season..things were getting better for a while and I was even skating a fair amount but my patellar tendon seems to be riding on the top of the nail and is driving me crazy. Ive been shooting clays and about 30 rounds of 12 gauge will make my knee puff up. I definitely dont want to want to see what chatter does to it yet. I dont think trying to 360 my walker two weeks after surgery was a good idea. Flame on, but I really miss lapping MH. Mammoth treated me very well and I had many epic days here, but MH is MH.
  12. Well done Sage! You're 17 right? That's a competitive and fun age group!
  13. Jesus Christ. Did you walk away unharmed?
  14. This is my first season missing closing day there! I still rep the mh sticker on my car despite much criticism
  15. I wonder if bomber would want to host some of the writeups that Bordy and crew had posted on there
  16. I meant cant only shims, so the blocks would be in the same plane. If used in combination with a 6 degree disc it frees up some room for more lift. But even making high side and low side shims for doing lift wouldn't be hard, but it would be tall. I should cannibalize a Khiro wedge kit just to make a mockup
  17. What about in addition to the existing cant disks, 1.5 degree shims for underneath the toe and heel blocks? Wouldn't the sort of spherical nature of the hardware be able to compensate for 1.5 degrees of misalignment?
  18. For those who couldn't make it and can't read, here's how last night went in pictures..
  19. I dont know why people dont use them, it's probably safer to ride with one, they are free in your local resort's parking lot and garbage cans, and they are very easy to put on. This does not apply to condoms however.
  20. Yes I will! Lance, elevation week is part of why its so hot here! ;) come join the fun
  21. How much drainage infrastructure is actually cut into the dirt? Mountain High has nasty melt and snowmaking, but not a huge amount of the problem you describe, but I know the whole resort is littered with drainage ditches everywhere
  22. It is HOT here. Stop by and say hello at Canyon, I'm on the second floor. I wish I could shoot! Let's all meet at austriahoff or some other bar with a restaurant one of the days.
  23. I move away and suddenly people actually ride mh??
