  1. Need to be in Ottawa mid afternoon.
  2. Going to Pak on Thursday night and 99% sure I'm going to Calabogie on Friday. Loopback is out of town so I have to go with a skier :(
  3. A bit of both! Spring carving at Mont Tremblant. Was +8C during the day, dropped below 0C overnight, back to above 0C again next day. The nylon shell added the bulk of the speed...
  4. Taken last year. A new angle on the sport. Surprised my buddy warned me about the drop off, I would have not said a word and kept on filming.
  5. When are you going to Sugarloaf? I'll talk to Loopback (Paul) and see if he's in.
  6. I know EXACTLY how you feel. I got mine 2 days before XMAS!! This is my first new board. Thanks BV, I love it!!
  7. I was introduced to Alpine 3 years ago, at the age of 45, by a good friend of mine. I tried softbooting before and could never get the hang of it (my arms weren't long enough). I bought some used hardboot gear, off Bomber of course, for about $200 and was good to go. (Just got a brand new Coiler VSR for XMAS!!) My only lessons were from my buddy, which lasted all of 5 seconds; Lesson # 1. Point the board downhill Lesson #2. Speed is your friend I’ve never looked back. As mentioned above, I love the uniqueness of the sport. There hasn’t been one hill that I’ve been on that someone hasn’t asked “what kind of board is that?” or “how come you’re wearing ski boots with a snowboard?” or “Is that a racing board?” Alpine is not dead, maybe it’s just very well kept secret.
  8. It's VSR XTight, 169 cm. Old School Woody graphics. Just need this stupid rain to turn to snow
  9. I not sure if I should be posting as I'm boardless right now That's only cause I'm waiting for my NEW BOARD!!!! Bruce (from Coiler) said it should be ready any day now. Can't wait to get out and meet everyone.
  10. I'll send pics when I get home on Tuesday. Scr: 10.5m waist 21.5cm Made for a 210lb aggressive rider. 172AMW 06GT1-7.9
  11. I have a glass Coiler that I might part with. I'm traveling and will be home on Tuesday and can send all board info then.
  12. Paul is at Tremblant and I'm in the rinks....again. Heading to Tremblant Wed and Thursday....can't wait. Haven't been on the beoard since I got back from Denver. Love Loveland!!
  13. At my age, not sure if my legs can handle three days in a row!!
  14. Look for the bald guy with the green ECES jacket.
  15. I went to Loveland today after a trip to Bomber to pick up some parts. WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!! Back at the hotel now and legs are toast. Don't think I'll go tomorrow. I'll save it for Sunday. Ink said the Wedge bar at 7:30 or Chair 1 at 8:30. You meet for breakfast?
  16. Ping my cell if you want 613-291-6045
  17. Thanks to all for the tips. Looking to ride all day Sat (if the legs hold up) and hopefully Sunday am. My flight back to Ottawa isn't till 5:30 pm. See you there!
  18. I will be in Denver next week and I’m looking for help on deciding where to go for the weekend March 12-14.(Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun depending on how the week goes) Have no problem driving an hour or two to get there. This is my second year carving. The sole board in my quiver is a Coiler AM 172. Most of the hills I ride around Ottawa, Canada are fairly small and most runs are fairly narrow. Anyone have any suggestions?
  19. This thread is REALLY going downhill:) While you guys next week will be enjoying thousands of feet of verticle, Paul and I will be screaming down all 280 feet at Pakenham!!!:(
  20. Daughter has a game tonight and I'm reffing on Wed. Everyone going next Monday (March 1st)?
  21. I've got a 2006 Coiler AM that I might sell. Would be looking for about $400 plus shipping. It's in great shape, had a base grind this year. No visible nicks on the base. Top sheet has standard "planker" scratches. Let me know if you're interested.
  22. Just got a note back from Bruce. Said the NSR should be good even with my extra 15 lbs. Saw the vids, can't wait to get out. I can't believe you guys hang with "PLANKERS"!!! oh wait...they're people too!!
  23. I may be in Denver March 9th to the 14th. Hoping to get to Breckenridge. Think the board could handle 200 lbs?
  24. Too bad I missed it. My daughter had a hockey game on Monday night, I sort of have to be there seeing as I'm the coach...We have another game this Monday the 22nd. Going to make it out soon. Loopback and I were at Mont St-Marie on Tursday. Conditions and the hill were AWESOME. Loopback was in phenom form.. See you soon
