A ha! So that's where they came from! I guess that means I can now toss them with nary a second thought.

TWS has started showing up at my house completely unprovoked. Have they been giving away free subs? I'd feel kinda bad if someone gave me a gift subscription and I just started throwing them away.

Working the minimum number of days at an ASC mountain to get the pass: Free

Well, looks like my question is now moot. I ended up spending the day hiking up Whistler and didn't leave enough time to get to the factory before it closed. I did, however, manage to set off Chris's alarm when I pulled on the door to see if it was locked. Oops!
I won't have time to head back out there when I get back to Vancouver, so it looks like I'll end up just paying to ship the board.

Matt - YGM.

The coupon would be awesome, but I'm flying out there on Thursday. Think it would make it to MA in time?
-
I read their website and they will let you take one board with you for free. Does anyone know if there are any restrictions on how big this board can be?
I'm going to Whistler in a week and was thinking I could save some $ by bringing a big long Prior back with me instead of paying for shipping.

But most beautiful ever? Come on! Then you've got to consider cars like the Ferrari 360 Modena, and a raft of other exotics
Don't forget such mundane cars as the Jaguar XKE and muscular Triumph TR6. What about the 3rd Gen RX7?
Among the more exotic cars, what about the purposeful 962? The absolutely incredible D-type? 355? 250GT California? 288GTO? Pretty much anything penned by Pinninfarina?

14psi is nothing for a proper turbo motor. Boost has no effect on engine life if the engine is properly prepared (and factory turbo motors always are). In fact, proper electronically controlled turbo motors should last longer than their NA counterparts, as they are usually under less stress and have such life-saving abilities as variable effective compression ratios.
My little hamster wheel glows during the day time. Of course, that's probably because it pushes 18psi and is the size of a bull testicle. Still gets the job done though - 215HP and 245ftlbs out of a miniscule 1.8L.

A number of things :) I am going to need some uprights CNC'd probably about a year from now, but that's pretty far down the road. How about a pair of TDs made from Ti? Or a set of Al molds to make some CF parts from? I would wear out the tooling before I ran out of stupid little things to make :)
What software package do you use for modeling?

So, fin, what's it gonna take for me to rent some time on this thing? :-)

Just noticed your location. Did any members of your high school class go on to become professional hitmen? :D

Oh man, that movie is absolutely terrible.....
...for my productivity. Now I'm going to be dreaming of carving instead of getting work done!
Only 5 months until the season begins!

I hope this doesn't mean the ECES will leave SugarLoaf.

Am I thinking of a different Aisling?

I think Aisling has the biggest....."bandwidth allocations".....of the group. She is one of the "well allocated" wenches, right? :D :D

Ghost, you have all of that local hardware and no fat netpipe? Shame on you!
-
I only went about 50MB into it (I already have it), but I was getting between 340-360kB/s. Speedy!
-
Not that I'm thinking of giving it a go or anything....

Nate - you bet they're useful! Most are guaranteed to turn your slalom stick into something more appropriate for Super-G in 30 days or your money back!

Closest local hardware store would be the Sears Hardware in Ashland, and they generally have a weak selection of everything at high-average prices.

I'm looking for some diamond blades for mine. The local Home Depot wants $15 for each and that's more than I want to spend on a "consumable" item that will only last me a couple of days.
-
I'm looking for something in the $50 range, so I don't think Home Depot will be of any help. eBay has a few pumps that look like they could work, plus I can always engineer something out of an old AC/refrigerator compressor.
The flow bench is going to have to wait until the CF business takes off. Every available dollar (yeah, both of them) is going into it, so I couldn't even afford a spare head so I could drive my car while I work on the über head.

Lance may have given away the win so he could rest more. After the interviews and press junk which the winner has to go through, finishing second means he has an extra 1-2hrs to rest.
Waaaaaay of topic, but worth while (Bose suspension System)
in Carving Central
Posted
John,
This system is different from the "fully active" suspensions used in F1. The systems in F1 were actually rather primitive because they were really just electronically controlled springs and dampers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but at first glance it appears as though the Bose system does away with those altogether and simply uses those beefy linear actuators instead.
I haven't read the full text yet, but just from looking at the pictures, it looks like the Bose system allows you to have a computer controlled, arbitrary, non-constant spring rate, as well as a simulated damper to match. That is two steps ahead of the system used on the FW14B when it took the drivers' and constructors championships.
