  1. Were you the patroller? If I were doing that I'd pro form some AT boots for work because walking in them is so nice and I'd not have to worry about the boots I use the rest of the time.

I really like the conveniance of step ins, so AT boot are out. Although I ride with a guy with AT and he rips everything.

I do like the intec extension that winds up your leg to your waist to unlock the back foot.

  2. unlike many people here I don't try to think of hardboots are being a poor interface just a different one.

I have never ridden soft boots and I am in no position to switch halfway down the mountain to soft boots as the conditions change. I ride top to bottom and thats the way I roll. Also, finding stashes to hide your extra soft boot gear on the mountain without getting it ripped off is hard to do.

    :smashfrea

  3. I use a leash but leashes are only good when the person is clicked into their bindings.

If the person is not clicked in and he lets go of the board by accident or maybe slips and lets go, depending on the outcome, the board might fall base down and become a rocket. Nothing you can do to prevent that other than ban Snowboard.which would be detrimental to our sport!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. What kind of boots do you guys use for all mountain riding?

I am 235 lbs and 6'4 riding lemans boots with blue spring bts on a Coiler 172 AM and Catek Os1 step ins.

I like the flex in the lemans boots but I think they are going to blow up soon as they are a few years old and the cant adjusters have failed a few times.

Is there any flex adjustements on the Indy or Suzuka boots?

I ride trees, bumps and steeps about 50 percent and groomed the other 50 percent.

  5. whats wrong with you people. Leave the guy alone and go out and ride instead of private emailing trying to frame someone.

I usually don't get into these flame posts but I have seen so many of them lately and some of you guys have pissed off lots of new board members. It is making me sick. Get off your high horse and keep your keyboard unplugged.

  6. someone dropped a bunch of bananas from the lift and I eyed them all day wanting to go and slice them up. When the time came, I miscalculated and carved right beside them and only pushed them out of the way. My buddy behind me on skis actually rode over them.

We made jokes how his skis were faster with slippery banana juice on them.

I like to hit trail maps and other stuff people drop from the lift.

  7. I need to check but I think I might have one. I will let you know tonight or tomorrow. If I dont get back to you, shoot me an email through this site to refresh my short memory. Read--->(I have to put my kids to bed and I might forget)

  8. I used to use Nails..then bend them over with a hammer.. but now I us MS spec rivits along the edge of the board about one every inch.. works good I haven't had any top sheet come up on my prior..:freak3:

Rivit the nose.. probabley would look like an airplane.. use lots and lots of rivits..

    Silly Said Shred..:smashfrea

I used to have an old Look overspeed that hit a tree with its nose .The previous owner cut an aluminum plate to keep the tip from cracking more. He riveted it to the nose of the board. It looked like frankenstein but it sure did the job. I would say get some rivets and put some protectors on the tip and tail just like the awesome rental boards.

As for bonding Metal to fiberglass, has anyone tried bondo?

  9. So after reading this post I widened my stance from 17 to 19.5 inches and wow. I thought I had it pretty good before, but It was so much easier to lay it out on the heel side with the wider stance...I even got taken out by one of my own trenches:biggthump

I went up to 21.25 inches and I loved it today. I kept the same canting but I felt like I wasnt going to fall down all the time. I ate up the wind blown powder in the trees like it was going out of style. I am tempted to go even wider to like 22 and see what it is like.

  10. I do have Cateks so changing the cants is no problem. I think I might go wider to 21-21.25 or so and check it out.

I see a lot of softbooters with really wide stances and was wondering if it works for them in the park, it should work in the powder and trees.

  11. I tried the search function but to no avail. I was wondering how tall people are compared to their stance width.

I am 6'4 and run around 20.25 inches.

I am thinking widening it a bit might help in bumps and trees.

    any insight?

  12. I was getting some serious shin pain at Fernie last weekend riding 1 meter of POWPOW and I tried to change the forward lean back a bit on my blue spring BTS to help it out and it did a touch but I also found that tightening the buckles up quite snug around my shins worked too. If they are slightly loose, you have room to rub but if they are tight, no rubby.

    Just my 2 cents.

    1 Meter of Powder ----->awesome.
