  1. yes, your info was interesting and helpful and i may try on a pair of dalbellos, thank you
  2. thanks for taking the time to reply,Bill
  3. Dave, thanks for the response. Heel to toe ,the liners are the correct length. They are just too thick or fat for the shells. The original liners are much slimmer or thinner.I cant even get the tongue or buckles in to place. I got the boots 15yrs. ago ,never liked them because they were just so uncomfortable.Shortly after, I started boarding with soft stuff and there was no way i was putting those boots on again. Then i had kids and it was easier to be with them ie.holding them, helping them between my legs with skiis on,but the boots were so bad. My kids havent needed help in a couple of years so i am only boarding now but i find as i am getting older i would like to give skiing another try.2yrs ago i got Deeluxe 225, i have BTS's and orthotics and they are so comfortable , very flexy. every one says that ski boots ars too stiff for carving. whats your thoughts on that with the Dalbellos, stiff or soft? maybe i will look into trying them on with deeluxe's on one foot to compare. any opinions? thanks
  4. I wanted to try skiing again with out spending much on gear, i had ski's and an old pair of Raichle Flexons that never fit well and were not too comfortable. Someone suggested I purchase a set of the speed liners , which I love in my Deeluxe's. The boots are a 10.5 ,my liners are mondo 28. The liners are just too fat for the shells. Has anyone tried this or have any liner suggestions for these Raichles. The original liners where much slimmer than the speeds.
  5. bola, lighten up. ive been a ski instructor, bump coach and a trained youth soccer coach and have 3 little kids, i understand kids. all i was trying to say was dont stress over the instruction. just enjoy the time outside with your family and the rest will come. i value instructors and look forward to when i retire from business and can learn to be a snowboard instructor and start my next career. when my oldest was just starting out we put her into a ski school and it was a bad exprience and it turned her and her sisters off to formal instruction. now that she is older ,she looks for any instruction and coaching she can get as do i attend any clinic i can find.
  6. as a dad of a 12, 9, 6 yr old girls, i just let mine be and they figured it from watching me and others. my 12, 9 and me tear it up on anything we want. and it so cool doing with your girls. just hang in there ,dont try teaching them, they wont listen anyway, save your money on the lessons for when they are a little older. its frustrating now, i was tortured for 8yrs.dont worry , it gets so much better, trust me
  7. lost touch with an old friend, Brad S. , from minnesota, steamboat and west coast, used to be a hard booter, anyone know him.
  8. anybody know if deelux 225's will work with ski bindings? as for fitting bindings and stiffness. i stopped skiing when i started boarding and would love to be able to ski once in a while.
  9. Dave, sorry i missed you on tues., i saw you working and didnt want to rub it in your face that you were working and i was tearing up all the snow. i spent most of the day on the ace and john hancock with my girls, they spent the day looking for untracked , and we found it most of the day. we had our best day ever and i loved watching them. it makes my wife nuts that i am turning them into me. we all played hooky on wed. and enjoyed another snow day, but i spent the first half of the day on the 180 with my littlest one, but i did get out in the afternoon and it was great. see you in a week or so, bill
  10. thanks for the response, ill check it out on ebay
  11. i started hardbooting about 2 yrs ago, 20 days per year. i ride an old proton 172 gs that i feel is just too much board for me and i was thinking something a little softer might be better for me, whats your opinion.would this be a board for me 6ft tall, 170lbs , 42yrs old , hard turner, not hard carver. bill b
  12. phil, my kids had them and i tried it and loved it. they bought one for me for fathers day. we use them together.i also have a vanguard and thats really cool too. BILL
  13. dave, sounds great to me,though other than that last winter in the storm ive never seen another carver there except you and cail
  14. it was great seeing some other alpiners for a change . I didnt mind the noncarving conditions as I am an old powder hound from colorado. My 11yr old decided she loved the real snow , I couldnt keep her out of the sides or the woods looking for untracked. We found it in the freestyle area of the grand slam . Maybe next time you guys could show me how to really carve. see you guys again, bill b
  15. I might be there on sunday with my girls, it will be interesting to see another hardbooter there. Ive never seen another hard booter at jiminy
  16. I am in my 40,s new to hardbooting. turning real hard, but not laying down. Presently using a 8yr old oxygen proton 172. Usually riding grooms, somtimes chop, bumps ,trees .Ive got to wonder if a board like a prior 4wd would suit me better. Ive never ridden another alpine board so I have nothing to compare to, I have been pretty happy with the oxygen but i wonder if my riding would improve. Mysoft board is an old k2 acc but pretty much ride only hard boots now. Any opinions of the prior would be appreciated
