  1. In my opinion you have just found the limit of what is humanly possible. I agree with what a few others have said about losing edge pressure from laying down. I think to keep that from happening you need forward angle in the back. Still you have amazing talent and you're the best I've ever seen.
  2. I know I've seen a video of him here before and I've watched a lot of his youtube videos. I am going to Breckenridge in Feb and I wanted to try to meet up. Does anyone know him?
  3. I've gotten all I can get out of GoPro videos and I'm looking for a better quality camcorder to get some good snowboarding videos next season but I don't know where to start. Any recommendations?
  4. Love your style Ryan. I'll be on the lookout for you next season up in CO.
  5. By flat I meant like fully detuned feeling, no grip whatsoever and snow wasn't bad: I was at Beaver Creek last Saturday and it was a smige icy and plenty fast over on the Arrowhead runs. Really had me flailing and frustrated.
  6. Edges were basically flat. Felt like riding a piece of plywood. Maybe I look like a jibber or something. Lucky for me it started snowing hard and by mid-day it didn't matter much anymore.
  7. Do you convey anything specific to a technician tuning your snowboard? I recently basically wasted a day due to a bad tune. Took me 4-5 runs to figure out what was going on since I hadn't ridden in over a month. Since my riding days are limited each season I don't want to ever make this mistake again.
  8. I have a 163 and I use soft boots on mine. I love it for carving even if it is a little soft, and with my low angles I can only carve moderate pitches unless conditions are perfect.
  9. I have a Kessler Ride 163 and the mean stance width is 21.25in. I probably keep that pretty constant but slide both feet forward more often than not. I usually keep my angles around 15deg front and 18-21deg back.
  10. By one foot being centered I meant binding mounted on the middle row of holes.
  11. I am a softbooter but I only carve these days. Anyway I've tried different variations, I have been wondering about you guys' experience in board feel with the following stance adjustments. 1) Both feet wider than center. Feels stable but rough on the quads and the board bends less. Too wide for a short guy like me when riding a 163-ish board. 2) Front foot forward of center, back centered. Easy to initiate turns. I have ridden this way alot when I'm riding a board that feels too soft for me like my old Nidecker Ultralight. That thing had a long flipped up/flimsy nose. 3) Front foot centered, back rear of center. Don't think I've tried it. 4) Front foot centered, back forward of center. This is what I'm doing right now on a Kessler Ride 163 ('m 5'8/150). 5) Both feet forward of center. Have also tried this on my current board. Feels pretty good but can't explain why. Anybody ever tried to reconcile the physics of how these adjustments change the board performance?
  12. Once it flares up like that it usually takes a few weeks to go down. I had the ACL procedure where the graft was made from the kneecap and patellar tendon so I've got a chronic case. The best thing for it is to do a lot of standing quad stretches and unfortunately resting.
  13. I don't care what anyone says, those dudes are good!
  14. Dude is good! Looks dangerous though!

    MRI

Nothing at the moment since I am not in any pain. He was very surprised I'm not and said it is only probably only a matter of time. Right now I'm stim'ing it and tomorrow some light exercise.

    MRI

The word I got Thursday was degenerative/bulging disks and arthritis with bone spurs. Dr cringed when I mentioned surfing and snowboarding but I'm not going down yet.

What did your MRI look like compared to mine? What surgical procedure did you have?

    MRI

Thanks Bobby. Yep lots of numbness but no pain at the moment. I'm hopeful I'll pull through and get a few more years of riding in.

Can anybody confirm that these are 2 herniated disks? Dr appt isn't until Thursday.
  20. I use an electrical muscle stimulator and I've had great results. I found that using it for long periods losens the muscles enough to where I can stretch and relieve nerve pressure. I also tried chiropractic several times and it never helped.
