  1. Well, I ride a 158 and I am 5'9" and 150 lbs and a all mountain rider mainly at Mammoth Mt CA. I admit that I am not an extremely technical rider, but I can carve. The A-frame doesn't chatter at my speeds and flexes well in turns. It does well in all conditions that I have thrown at it (powder, courderoy, crud, ice (if the edges are sharpe) Sierra cement). It take it down everything from double blacks, trees, smaller drops and even the park (occasionally). I have Cateks mounted with no obvious signs of stress other than the normal binding marks. I love it for my use! I hope this helps. :)
  2. The A-frame rides like a champ with plates and hard boots! I have been using one for 4 years. Just thought I would try and help your cause.
  3. What type of lube do people use? Bike chain wax, white grease?
  4. OK, so I feel a bit silly asking this, but I have not been able to find any info on this subject. Is there a need to service Intec heels? I have been riding my Intec heels for 4 years approximately 20-30 days a year. They work great still but I have had to walk through a few dirt parking lots. I just want to keep them working well (and safe). Any thoughts?? Thanks for the input in advance.
  5. I agree, I am only 5 weeks away from getting my doctorate in physical therapy. I have torn my left (front foot) ACL and had it replaced, no brace needed. Cartilage and menisci do not grow back and an article I read showed that 68% of active people who do not have an ACL loose, from damage, at least one of their meniscus with in 5 years of loosing the ACL. Loose your carliage and meniscus = high likelihood of total knee replacement.
  6. I am interestested in the Extra Catek 4hole/3hole compatible discs (OS1version). I can pick up in Mammoth (if you can wait until I get up there).
  7. Thanks, that's what I thought. Is there a guide to installation of T-nuts in boots (or in general)?
  8. So a quick question about setting up my new Intec heels. I have a pair of Raichle 125's, the directions indicate that I need to set t-nuts into the boot to accept the screws that came with the Intec's. I am mechanically inclined, but I am hesitant to mess around with setting the t-nuts when the original screws from the original heels seem to anchor the heels well. I don't want to mess around with safety, so any and all advice on mounting the Intec's would be appreciated!:D
  9. I know this is not hard boot stuff but I am just keeping it in sight and in mind.
  10. I am looking to free up some funds for my hard boot addiction. I am a light weight rider, so everything still has a lot of life left in them! I will add pic's soon! *K2 Transit free-ride/freestyle board 154 I bought it new in 2001, haven't ridden iat since early 2005. Good condition, no edge dings, very light p'tex gouging but nothing to the core (blame a bad snow coverage at BigSky in '05) Light & responsive. Green. Here is a link to all the info I could find http://www.epinions.com/otdr_snowboard-K2_Transit $85 *Drake F-60's also bought new in 2001, same usage as the board. Size Medium. Light Grey and Blue. Stiff with adjustable foreward lean. Good Condition, Straps have normal wear and tear but still have a lot of life left in them. (all nuts and washers) 3 and 4 hour pattern compatable. Great bindings! I really loved these, until I changed to hard plates. $40 Buy together for $110 Help a sister out! I also posted this on San Diego Craigslist. Cheaper if you buy it here! :o
  11. I am interested in picking up a cheap swallowtail board. I am looking for something in the 158cm-165+cm range. I am 5'9'' and 145 lbs (if that helps) I really only want to spend like $100 because I may not get many powder days if Mammoth repeats last year, oh and becuase I am broke. I have no idea if this is a realistic request, so I am sorry if you all get a good laugh! :D
  12. Sounds like Gregg, I think he is currently in Whistler.
  13. I don't go to SS often, I have a pass at Mammoth, but I could be easily convinced to come out for a hardboot day. My husband is interested in trying it, he skis so, if someone has a board set up for a 6 foot 200 lb guy, he would give it a try!
  14. bobdea, I didn't realize you worked there...I recently got to know a friend of a friend that is an instructor out of Canyon, I mean Eagle. Gregg AKA Double G. Anyway, I am the kookie hardbooter on a freeride board, Green jacket, grey pants, white helmet crazy red hair sticking out the bottom. Always with a skier in red ('cause there are so few of them). I have seen a few hardbooters but usually I notice them from the lift.
  15. So I haven't posted very much or for a long time, but I wanted to let you all know that this forum and website helped me a lot this season. Here is my quick story. <!--[if gte vml 1]><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" coordsize="21600,21600" o:spt="75" o:preferrelative="t" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" filled="f" stroked="f"> <v:stroke joinstyle="miter"/> <v:formulas> <v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"/> <v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"/> <v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"/> <v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"/> <v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"/> <v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"/> </v:formulas> <v:path o:extrusionok="f" gradientshapeok="t" o:connecttype="rect"/> <o:lock v:ext="edit" aspectratio="t"/> </v:shapetype><v:shape id="_x0000_i1025" type="#_x0000_t75" alt="" style='width:12pt; height:12pt'> <v:imagedata src="file:///C:/DOCUME~1/amartin9/LOCALS~1/Temp/msoclip1/01/clip_image001.gif" o:href="http://www.bomberonline.com/VBulletin/images/smilies/smile.gif"/> </v:shape><![endif]--><!--[if !vml]--><!--[endif]--> I started snowboarding in 2000, self-taught and sore. After 3 winters of pain, I finally figured it out and was hooked. I ride with my skier husband so I stayed away from the park and gravitated to the steeps. As I became complacent I looked to try something new. I stumbled across BOL and started reading. I started asking for help and advise. Members gave me all the advice I could take! :D Then I just had to wait for snow.... Mammoth has had a weak season. So I got up the nerve to go outside my comfort zone and try my "new" set up. (Raichle 125's, OLD snowpro's and a F2 speedster GTS 157) The board is very squirrelly and short for me. So I put my snowpro's on my Arbor A-Frame (158) and a new love was born! I now have the confidence to really lean into my carves (though I have a long way to go). The stability of plates and hard boots is amazing!!!! I wished I had gone this route much earlier! I now have the confidence to hit the jumps, pipes etc and have even started hucking small drops. I LOVE IT! So Long story short, Thank you to BOL and everyone that makes it happen. Snowboarding has gone to a new level for me! (May be next I will try that F2 again!)
  16. Thanks...I bought a F2 Speedster GTS 158 on ebay. Still waiting on it's arrival. Good luck selling it!
  17. Labeled picture posted here. Sorry, I don't know how to post the pic here yet.
  18. So I got a used pair of SnowPro bindings off ebay and I have a couple of questions. 1. Does anyone have any info on the snowpro interchanger? It is a plate binding (not the soft rental binding that snowpro refers to on their website). Colors are red and black. They have levers on the side that release the disc when it is not attached to the board, and a lever in the middle of the disk that allows you adjust the angle. 2. I mounted them and they seem to rock a little side to side even though they are screwed tight to the deck. Am I missing a gasket or something? 3. The heels and toes of my boots are narrower than the binding area where they fit. When the bindings are fit snug to the boot (I can just barely close them) they seem to stay but this is with out the forces of carving. Should I worry? (BTW - my boots are small - only a mondo 25.)
  19. :D Can't wait for good snow (and some vacation time)!

What are the specs for the amp 5? Year? (I am a newbie) :D
  21. Thanks for the heads up! :D But you go ahead and take it. I already have boots and I scored some snopro's on ebay. I think I am going to wait for a little while on the board.
  22. I saw these and thought that someone might be interested in them! Burton 1991 Burton
