  1. You can say that again... (about being competitive that is...) My first international event was Austria... Heard stories about Finland and Alaska.... Alaska is one place I really would love to visit.... after watching all those videos it really looks like a place I'd love....:D I do the local race meets here in Aus....Austria was my first trip abroad to race. Hopefully we'll bump into one another and go cruising!! Know of any other BOL members that are going to be there at that time??
  2. Hahaha Yep... International Airline World Championships!!!! How funny is that?? What Airline you work for?? I'm a Qantas boy myself... Did you go to Austria (Schladming) Earlier this year for the IASF worlds?? That place was awesome!! And Blue Tomato is right there in the village!!! Since this is my first trip to The States, I might bite the bullet and bring one of the racers and my freerider for the rest of the runs.... Should be a hoot!!!!
  3. Hey Guys, Did the search thing on Jackson hole and this came up... I'm heading there in late Feb to early Mar 2007 to race and wanted to ask specific questions.... Should I leave my racers at home?? Since weight is pretty tight on international flights I was thinking of only bringing one board instead of several but if it's as powdery as I've heard, that could be suicide bringing the racer(s) If you guys have any opinions on what board I should really take please reply!!! Any of the BOL members regulars there... be great to meet up for a drink or 20?? Any opinions etc would be very appreciated!!! Cheers
  4.        That is Gold!!! I haven't laughed so hard in ages!!! Good work!!!
  5. Gotta agree with that... Long boards are really special to ride when you have the space... but I also have a short one (FP164) that is an absolute scream! I ride that like a demented child. (The long board is an R-17 178) I think that having a couple of boards in your quiver is the best thing for answering questions like this...... Just gotta "live the dream" for want of a better phrase... To me they are like children... they all have different personalities, the respond to your commands all in a different way.... That's what makes the sport so special... (Well to me anyway) I wanted to say that's what makes carving so "spiritual" but I'm not exactly sure how everyone would react to me saying that.
  6. Thought of another along the same "lines" " Carvers Do It Without Leaving Skidmarks " ;) Ha..!!! maybe it's just me..... prolly is......ok I'll stop!!!
  7. How About " KEEP UP.... I DARE YA !!!!! "
  8. I've have a sticker on both of my decks " Speed kills... Play it safe... Be a Park Monkey! " It's only cos' I'm one of the VERY few Alpine Riders in Australia!!:( Another one popped up as I was writing this " Speed Kills..... Play it safe....Go grind a rail " etc etc etc... No bitterness here.... not that softbooters are knuckle draggers or anything... (My God what have I become!!!????)
  9. Heaps of people on Ebay have them.... Also Ejssunglasses.com ... and a place called apairofshades.com...... Give them a shot.....
  10. Yep... Only in the last couple of weeks... You can also get spare heel and toe bails cheap.... Shame they don't ship to Australia :( I love my race plates.... I'm a little more wiser now after reading this thread... Now I know what to look out for... Cheers Guys!!!
  11. Hello from Australia Guys!!! from a newbie to BOL.. Thought I'd throw down my 0.02c I used Spy Alloy MX goggles...Single layer lens: I use the Dark Smoke Mirror lens on most days.. It's not really that dark in comparison to double lenses, Quite nice actually... On really bad weather days I throw in the yellow lenses but Spy have an issue with the mirror coating... it doesn't last all that long so stock up on replacement lenses... They are super cheap if you can find them but there are heaps of on-line stores that have what you want....I have the prob of people shipping to Aus! Good news is the Alloy MX and the Blizzard and the Targa II use the same lenses so effectively you could turn the Alloy into a set of double lens Snow goggles... After having probs finding Alloy mirror lenses I ended up buying a new set of Blizzards with an extra lens.... Spys also have extremely soft frames that conform to your face and are brain bucket friendly.... Though years ago I ran both Arnette and Oakley but the lenses are extortionately expensive...... Well here in Australia they are...
