  1. ...at Co-Produced.com. Greetings from windy Oklahoma! I've posted a few more clips from SES, this group at Highlands above the demo tent near the condos. My apologies for not recognizing so many of the great people I met in their gear, but please post me a note if you recognize yourself or others in the clips. Also please let me know if you have trouble viewing the clips. Thanks and good riding- Larry

  3. Fe- Send me an email and I'll forward it to him... Larry
  4. So the golf season may be fouled up too? Man, that's a bad deal. Make you work on your short game a while, I guess. Hope after all this that you're back up and carving next year. Your SES Roomy
  5. ...at Co-Produced.com. More as time allows. Try these out and let me know if you have trouble viewing them. And I can use some help putting names with jackets, please. Thanks everyone for a great time at my first SES! Larry Cofer
  6. please send pix to lmcofer@sbcglobal.net thanks
  7. ... whenever the United flight gets over the divide on Sat. the 10th, through the 17th. First time at SES and Aspen, and looking forward to the adventure. Redriver
  8. I had a great time over on the blue/blacks of Peak 10- Crystal, Centennial and Doublejack. Everyone talks about the crowds at Breck- but I got away from them mostly on Peak 10 where the lift doesn't go all the way to the bottom. Have fun.
  9. I had the same trouble with some new soft boots I bought about 5 years ago with heat-moldable liners. Tried to re-mold them 3 times over 2 seasons- using extra toe caps and got no relief, but lost the toenail and rode in pain every day. Then I got rid of the boots and picked up some non-molded ones, and the trouble hasn't returned. I wondered if the heat mold was just too hard in the first pair-- the slight room I had to slide forward seemed to press my toe mercilessly into a hard liner, particularly on landing jumps. May not be as warm, but now there's cushion in the toe. I'll never have another pair of moldables.
  10. Would you take $125 for these? Thanks
  11. I found one old thread on a similar issue that also mentioned the air bubble problem, so sounds like it's not just a grind but more work involved at the shop. I'm bummed, but I've done worse too and I appreciate your encouragement. Stuff's too expensive to ruin from ignorance, and "the more I know, the less I understand..." (Henley)
  12. Hey folks- New-ish hardbooter here with a problem. After reading and listening as much as I could on the subject, I tried to hot wax my new board the other day and I'm sick. During waxing with a seriously hard wax, I guess I turned the iron up too high and raised a couple of quarter-sized bumps on the base. Will a base grind take care of this and return my pride back to factory fresh, and should I leave my new baby to the pros?
  13. About how old, what year model are your boots? Thanks
  14. I just remembered that all I painted were the buckles to black.. Memory fading.....
  15. .. particularly with hard sb boots so expensive. I just warmed them up and coated them with black, then a second coat next day. I pulled all the buckles off first and covered the hardware. Now and then I'd get a scratch that exposed my "softer side" to the fashion patrol, but otherwise worked OK.
  16. That's funny... I found a pair just like them a few years ago and painted them black (the disguise worked). They fit great, and wish I had them back now that I'm back into hard stuff.
  17. .. it was still in effect, but my son and I took advantage of the deal a couple of years ago- with PC rates > $70 it's a great deal.
  18. At $495 for boots and already $450 on board and bindings, I'd have been holding out for several more years... or divorced. I didn't want anyone else's old boots either. A used board I can live with, but sweaty old boots? No way. I recognize that the carving market is small, competiton nil and the entry cost keeps a lot of wanna-bes out. I'll deal with less-than-perfect boots and some chafing this season so I can feel the speed and grip again.
  19. Seems what I'm hearing here and in the tech advice about the negatives with ski boots are "too stiff," not to mention longer for toe drag problems. I got back into carving this season and couldn't find boots for less than $350 new, so I bought a pair of "soft" ski boots to get by with for now. By soft- they have two buckles on top and just laces below, all in a hard shell. Anyone have opinions on how I might get along with these- what my expectations should be? Red
  20. Anyone know where I can find an F2 Conshoxx? Anyone have opinions on it? Thanks-
  21. Found an F2 "Roadster" new online, but don't find one mentioned in the gear review section or F2s limited site (where's their race lineup?). Anyone know about / ride the Roadster? Thanks
  22. That's wierd- I was just daydreaming yesterday about the differences and similarities in my old water slalom days and the carving I now do on the mountain. Was wondering how I could turn so well on the ski with no binding angle (or 90 degrees, in snow terms), and whether it was possible to board without an angle, or practical/possible to waterski with angles like snowboards. I'm no physics whiz, but do wonder if one could learn from the other??? Come to think of it, I'm really no carving wonder-boy either. I know (and remember) just enough to be dangerous.
  23. Thanks- and willing to hear more opinions. I had been eyeballing the Coiler RC and the Prior 4wd. What about Donek Axxess, F2 Silberpfeil, Coiler Freecarve and the Burton Speed?
  24. I posted yesterday on a similar question- like to race a little and ride all day but didn't like the Burton Alp I had. Have size 11 boots- are the FC and AM models going to get me at better angles (be wider) than race boards too. Thanks for the continuing ed...
  25. Hello everyone- Just joined and want to get back into carving / light racing. You've no doubt heard this one before: Need help deciding on a board to use every-other-day on trips, and to race GS (I like my freeride board for Slalom). I'm 185 lbs with an 11 boot, the last (only) carve board I had was a Burton alp and I didn't enjoy it. Thinking about some kind of freecarve board- used, but not sure how narrow I can go with my feet - probably don't want a pure race or GS board. Like USASA racing and some Nastar for fun. Opinions? Thanks
