  1. Another rocking day at the BEast. Thanks to everyone for the great rides and great vibe!
  2. Wait, so that Proteus 180 isn't getting any snow time???? Ummmmm... LMK if it needs a home.
  3. Thanks - great video! Unbelievable recovery by Walder up top, but his strategy was awful at the bottom of the first run - he'd managed to smooth his way back into contention and clearly had an advantage in the flats where he was better able to accelerate out of the turn, but then he went too low instead of consolidating his gains, and took a 1.5 disadvantage instead of the .3 he could have had. Prommegger makes a gorgeous transition into his turns, dosn't he? So many of these guys are jump and jam but he looks like a freecarver half the time....Looks like Walder is in step-ins?
  4. Pretty wild watching the nose get worked around 1:25
  5. I think I saw a thead on this but now can't find it. I'm trying to make the switch from my old Raichle 324/Intek to an old pair of AF600, also with Inteks. With a little grinding of the area above the instep on the shell my Thermoflex inners fit pretty well, and the boots are much smoother to ride (much softer, which surprised me, but BTS takes care of that), so that's good. The problem is with the right (rear) boot. The Intek works great without the inner installed, but once the inner and my foot are in there the Intek prongs don't extend all the way out - they just barely engage the holes in the Catek receivers. I think it's a matter of the cable not being free to slide back down, because it's binding between the inner and the shell. Not an issue at all with the 324 or with the left AF600, and not always a problem with the right boot, but often enough that I don't dare go up the hill with it. Has anyone tried any kind of fairing (I dunno - a soda straw???) to eliminate the problem, or any other mod worth trying?
  6. Hoping to get up to B-East this sunday - anyone else? Bousquet was chalk today, with not a soul on the slope but me.

    Nemo

Wish I could make the B-East but it's going to be Bousquet tomorrow, maybe Jiminy on Monday....
  8. B-East on Sunday I hope, then Stratton or Mt Snow on Monday...
  9. Probably not turny enough for me, then - good luck with the sale anyway!
  10. Any sense of what the SCR might be? Are you likely to be in the western part of the state anytime - Berkshire east, Butternut, Bousquet, etc...?
  11. Not this week - I was there last week on Saturday I think.

  12. I'll be there - probably both days!
  13. Sure - 4 pix sent to shannondecker no space no underscore. Let me know if you need closeups or anything....
  14. Happy to find it a home - it doesn't get more than a couple of ceremonial runs a year at most. It's the PJ 6-3 from, I think '93. Base is very good with no gouges to speak of but a fair amount of pine sap from its last day out in the spring which should be cleaned. Edges are strong but could use a tune. Top shows mild shopwear and very light typical liftline rash. Bindings seem solid to me and I've ridden them without issue - I was able to replace one of the toepiece parts with an OEM part, so they should be fine. Shipping from MA isn't likely to be too brutal if it goes ground, but Priority would be expensive. How about $90 plus actual shipping cost?
  15. I have a nice 6 regular asym, with very good working bindings. In very good shape considering although it could use a tune of course. It's the green/brown/camo version with the dayglo sprocket on the base.
  16. Those look nice - too small for me too, but where are you riding? Butternut? Catamount? You're not too old for HB no matter how old you are. I'm in Lenox, - drop me a line and we'll get some turns in - jyepstein at Gmaildotcom
  17. I'll get there around 1030 saturday, with a couple of older extra boards probably.
  18. Unusual stance he uses - not many guys can pull off the cross-legged style...
  19. Saturday's looking pretty good right now for me. I'd love to know what the conditions there are like. In Southern Berkshires the snow pretty much froze after the rain so now it's soft frosting on stale birthday cake - BEast might be better.

    Intec Heels

Thanks, sent email, lmk if you don't get it (I'm at jyepstein(AT)gmaildotcom). The other thing I'm still looking for was a 180 Proteus - saw your treasure trove and there were a couple of things that were close but that board was PUUREfect for me so I didn't come after your 184 carbon or Gen1 FC or whatever....
  21. I'll be in the neighborhood by 1230 - anyone else up for a slushfest? Haven't ridden there in years so I have no idea if it's in decent shape but they made a lot of snow early so...

    Balance

You might try moving the whole setup a bit more forward on the board - maybe go a full inch further forward with your front foot and half an inch with your back foot - 18.5 is pretty narrow which is incredibly cool if you're on the sweetspot of the board but incredibly tiring if you aren't.

    Intec Heels

That's excellent! If everything works out I'll take the intecs for now and look for a time when I can do the mod on the Bomber/Fintec setup. Short season - just into Feb - and short money available this year so the Intec solution is beter for now. I've been riding the same 324s for years and even with BTS and the stiff tongues I'm just crushing my instep on toesides. Have a beat-up pair of AF700 which should help a bit, if I can get them rideable.

    Intec Heels

Anyone got a spair pair of Intec assemblies lying around? I want to set up a slightly stiffer pair of backup boots without having to take apart my current ones, and Fintecs won't work with my Catek aluminum receivers. Thanks!
  25. I'll be up tomorrow around 10, in case there's anyone around give me a call- four one three two eight one 6859. I'll probably start on Canyon if it's not too crowded, then head over to either Fallen Timbers or Mineshaft. Was pretty chalky at Bousquet today so Vermont must be amazing.... AAARGH - nevermind - knee blew up this morning...
