I think I saw a thead on this but now can't find it. I'm trying to make the switch from my old Raichle 324/Intek to an old pair of AF600, also with Inteks. With a little grinding of the area above the instep on the shell my Thermoflex inners fit pretty well, and the boots are much smoother to ride (much softer, which surprised me, but BTS takes care of that), so that's good. The problem is with the right (rear) boot. The Intek works great without the inner installed, but once the inner and my foot are in there the Intek prongs don't extend all the way out - they just barely engage the holes in the Catek receivers. I think it's a matter of the cable not being free to slide back down, because it's binding between the inner and the shell. Not an issue at all with the 324 or with the left AF600, and not always a problem with the right boot, but often enough that I don't dare go up the hill with it.
Has anyone tried any kind of fairing (I dunno - a soda straw???) to eliminate the problem, or any other mod worth trying?
