  2. I would definatly go with the Subaru. - Extra Power/torque - AWD - H4 engine is more stable than the I4 and makes the car more stable since the engine is positioned lower - Subaru cars are known to be very secure, in case of frontal collision especially - Subaru's 2.5 boxer engine has been engine of the year twice I believe, it is reliable !! Subaru's awd is really efficient and fun in the winter. If you want some more space, get the wagon. Fuel consumption is a little higher than the Protege and subaru parts, in case of repairs, will be more expensive than mazda's. So basicly AWD is a must in the winter.. This car is secure, reliable, AWD and efficient -- It's the perfect winter beater IMO. Once you go AWD, you don't go back to FWD
  4. Wow, already ! Who knows.. You could be "sick" that day..
  5. If bindings or the board are still available, let me know please. Rss_j@hotmail.com or Phone : 514 248 7387. Thanks. Jules
  6. Hi, If you guys still have a spot, count me in! Unfortunatly your e-mail is turned off. Mine is Rss_j@hotmail.com if you need to contact me. Thank you. Jules
  7. Free ticket for the day if you arrive before 7h30 AM ! I will be there with a fellow carver. I just wanted to let you guys know. See you there. Jules
  9.  .. Nice car tho
  10. **Edit : nevermind, nice ride **
  11. You should definatly go with hardboots. You don't get the same support from soft boots if you ''rotate them''. IMO, a soft boot should not go above 25 degree. The reason is that those soft binding were made to support toe and heel pressure. When your bindings are at.. Let's say 45 degrees, you will tend to put the pressure on the side of your foot (The edge), and you won't have full support from your soft binding. And I would suggest you get a flexible freecarve board to start, shorter than your K2! Just my 0.02$ Jules
  12. I usually put it down because it takes about 2 seconds and a half, it's comfortable, and I guess it can be useful in case something happens. There's no big difference wheter you put it down or not, unless you're with children in the chair. Edit :: Woohoo! Groomer Groomet..
  13. Well I saw :: http://www.maxpowered.com/images/VR6Mk3/D70_Images/8_21_05_Cooper_Stadium_AutoX/images/DSC_0170.jpg It's not a Mk3 but I thought .. maybe...
  14. Wow nice ! Is there actually a VR6 inside???
  15. Ah exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much.
  16. with the F2 speedster SL 158 ! It's really stiff, light, so easy to control. It was mounted with Deeluxe carbon Xbone (step in), 58 and 55 in the rear.. It's amazing to have such a small turn radius and the board holds edge at really high speeds, I was really surprised. It only took half a run to get used to the stiffness. It's really a great board for aggressive riders, it actually jumps by itself at the end of each turn. I also got to try a F2 speedster RS 178 on F2 step in bindings. It was pretty fun but a little too stiff for my weight and kind of long for the ''hill'' I was on. But it has incredible edge hold, kind of surprising. So I'm really considering getting a Speedster SL 158 (or 162 maybe). I have a question though, has anyone tried the Madd 158 and the Speedster SL, how would you compare both boards?? Thanks. -Jules
  17. Ok.. Caledon's membership is way over my budget. But I found Milton Heights racing club, I think they go to Glen Eden, wich is about 1h30 from Barrie, so if I don't find anything closer, that might be it !!
  18. Thanks for answering so fast, I'll actually be living north of toronto in Barrie (So I guess it should even be faster to get there??). What's the difference between a private club and a normal ski resort.. One is more expensive ? :p Thanks, Jules
  19. Is there any alpine snowboard competition team around Barrie ?? In mslm maybe?? Or a place with GS gates? Thanks very much. -Jules **Ahh just found something called Caledon's snowboard racing team.. I guess it's about 2 hours away? Not bad , anything else a bit closer?! **
-Jules
  23. If it's not sold, I'm really interested, and I'll even come pick it up
  24. Except the knee bending and the arm flapping problems, you're doing pretty good ! But I think you should try to keep your torso facing the nose of your snowboard when your on your heelside. (Better stability and you will be able to complete your turns.) You may want to try ::
