Hey there,

I would really like to start learning the sport, need some help with ideal equipment for me. My fiance has an old Burton board for me but I think it is 163, he says it is fine (probably cause he doesn't want me to buy anything)... is that too long?

I am girl who is 5'7" and 120lbs. What do I need to get started?

:) Thanks!

Alright, Correct me if I'm wrong but you don't need an alpine board to start carving. if you have the right boots and bindings, even a decent freeride board should suffice. In fact, it might even make the transition a little more painless.

Your boots are the most important, then come bindings and then a board.

Just the opinion of a skidder...
