carve4life
I was just on ebay looking for a new MP3 player. I noticed, maybe because of the holidays but, damn everything is like full priced. I remember a time when you used to be able to find things on ebay for like half price. now everything from sony network mp3 players to ipods to burton jackets to TD2s are at minimum of retail prices. then after shipping forget it. It is still alright for used items but new stuff is all full price. has the internet lowered to retail cut so much that products are sold for close to their wholesale price? It seems that way. I just bought a K2 blackhawk one helmet from tramdock for 229 which was the price at rei.com, when the retail was 299. come to find out the wholesale for that product was like 219. so that company only made 10 dollars? and i got free shipping so maybe they made 4 dollars? wow!!! at least now i can by things in the store without worring about finding it cheaper on the internet, which is very convient cause you dont have to wait for shipping. what do you guys think? has anyone else noticed this trend? bartron
I noticed the same thing. Also, I noticed more and more "auctions" don't allow bidding -- you can only purchase it for the BuyItNow price. Sucks. 'later...
Speedzilla
There are still deals to be had, sometimes you just need to look a bit harder.
carvedog
He has a guitar store and he actively advertises that he matches internet prices. But he also trolls eBay for one off stuff that he then marks up in his store. Who the heck knows.
