fishrising
Heading north on 95 through Maine, should I stay on 95 to go around Portland, ME or take 295 through Portland and then reconnect to 95? Thanks! Ben
ncermak
all depends if you want to go to freeport or not.. I always stuck to 95 when going to lewiston...of course Jack is probably the guy to talk to...
fishrising
I am heading northeast of Baxter to go bird hunting, so I am looking at 7+ hours in the car from CT. I don't care about stopping, unless I need gas or if nature calls. I would rather just get there...so, I am looking for suggestions on the quickest way past Portland...thanks! Jack M
will be more direct to Baxter and points north. Just so you know, what used to be 495 is now 95. What used to be 95 is now 295. 495 is no longer the name of any road in Maine. 95 and 295 reconnect just south of Augusta in Gardiner. Any travel from Portland and south to Gardiner and north should be done on 295, it's shorter. Unless there is a blizzard, in which case 95 is plowed better.
