In Doppelmayr Seilbahnen’s newest video, we learn how over 700 tonnes of steel cable is manufactured and transported for a new chairlift.

Building a new ski lift takes a lot of work. Trees need to be cleared, designs need to be made up, and, of course, supplies need to be made and transported. Each and every part of a chairlift needs to be sources, and the massive steel cables that move us up the mountain are no exception. In Doppelmayr Seilbahnen’s newest video, we learn how over 700 tonnes of steel cable is manufactured and transported up into the mountains for a new chairlift project.

This video is in German, so make sure to turn on subtitles (unless you speak German, than enjoy!). The amount of work isn’t much of a surprise to me, but it is pretty crazy to see it all in action. Especially since the steel cables are just one piece of the overall chairlift puzzle.
