CarvCanada
Just came back from 2 months of mountain biking/canoe tripping in the northern Laurentians, and winter is soon! I ordered some freeride pro's and I'm wondering about the soft boots with the greatest fit to the bindings. I'm guessing Nidecker's boots because of the highback and straps, but what about others like Malamutes or DriverX's? Thanks guys!
kjl
I'm happy with the malamutes and the catek freeride. The fit is (very) tight, so it requires some hand hammering to get the boot snug back in the heel cup, but once it's in, it's a nice, tight ride. svr
Both the driver x and the malamutes work well and northwave/apx high end stiff boots have worked as well for me. Also check out Deeluxe`s spark models for a good match with the bindings.
www.oldsnowboards.com
So, I gather the bindings tend to be narrow? Any of the boots mentioned run narrow in last too? Narrow foot here. Looking forward to giving the bindings a go this year WHEN we get all that POW!!! "Praying" Bryan
svr
Bryan, it is not really that the heel cup is that narrow, just larger (over size 10) boots are so wide in the heel that it is a tight fit. Hope you get some powder to enjoy this winter. I am moving from back from Spain to the northwest and can't wait to ride my tankers at Baker and Whistler this season. speed is your friend... www.oldsnowboards.com
Excellent! Look forward to having another Rad-Air rider in the PNW !! Should be good , can't imagine two poor seasons in a row! Come on down to the Hood for a few runs. I need to get some new soft boots for sure, so, I will focus on low volume , narrow shapes if I can find some that are stiff enough. Thanks for the info. My bindings arrive soon I will look up some of the past posts related to the bindings and some of the mods. When do you leave? Email me directly please. Thanks, Bryan
