Northern area hotels around Harbor Springs usually offer free lift tickets after St Patrick's day with lodging and the crowds are non existent. Have had several great closing weekends at Highlands or NUBS. Nubs typically has better conditions and will stay open later into the season. Be sure to check out in advance any events that may be planned for the resort you are going to. Highlands has a big race planned for March 26, which could be a good day to go to Nubs. From Nubs site: March 21 – Late Season Spring Discount Period Begins: Come enjoy the best in Michigan spring skiing & snowboarding at reduced rates through the end of the season. March 21 – Spring Ski & Ride promotion begins! Your lift tickets are included in you lodging rate when staying at one of the participating lodging properties in the greater Petoskey/Harbor Springs area.
