New To Sport

Greetings All!

I'm pretty new to the sport and was wondering if there were any established posts with tips or videos for newbies. Any tips or help it's much appreciated.

My friend shared a video with me of a European guy breaking down the technique for hard booting with English subtitles. Has anyone thought of making one in English? Is there one already out there?

Here's some background on me for anyone interested:

I started softbooting in 2013 due to some friendly prodding from one of my friends, who was actually a hardbooter, JohnnyLo. Although I fell..... a lot...I instantly got hooked to the challenge of the sport. I must have gone 20 times that season. However, I was always enamored by JohnnyLo's setup. He and my other friend, Keltracer, informed me of the ECES and I attend in 2014. That's where this slippery slope began. I demo'ed a hardboot (164 Prior 4x4) set up and felt like I needed to add it to my repertoire. And that's how I got into it. I currently ride a Cooler AM 168.

Did I meet you at Camelback? I rode with the JohnnyLo crew there a few times. Tell JohnnyLo and Kel to get the Camelback pass for $219 and come regularly starting now. And you do the same. It's been really good there.

Sounds like you have yourself a nice setup!

I recently posted on Duke's beginner's thread a sequence that helped me learn a good functional body position.  Monk, this might help you out too.  Post #15 here...

That was a super helpful post!!! I went out yesterday and probably did better than I have the whole rest of the season combined!

I also envisioned doing the bamboo drill which reinforced the upper body too.
