skandinavec
I was wondering if anyone has a technique that could show, where the hidden 4x4 inserts are ?
MTB_DH11
Contact kessler in Europe via email and he will tell you based on the serial number on the board. I contacted him and he was very willing to explain how to find the 4x4 inserts.
www.oldsnowboards.com
I was wondering if anyone has a technique that could show, where the hidden 4x4 inserts are ? If I recall correctly , not all the boards have 4x4 inserts. Iron filings? That is how I have found others. IF the original inserts where magnetic by design. *Ace*
Iron shavings plus a strong magnet should help show whatever inserts are hiding underneath.
fin
When we did one of these in my shop a few years ago we did it with sound. Hit the board where you think inserts are with a small, blunt, steel object (screw driver). When you get to the insert the tone will change. Make you best guess then drill a VERY small hole to see if you nailed it. Once you find one, you can determine the others near it. Bruce came up with this when a Kessler came in with racer wanting to do this. It worked great and the guy walked out with a board with 4 hole inserts. The inserts are stainless steel so won't spot them that way. And unless they used "magnetic" caps on the inserts the steel powder method will also not work. Another method I have heard of is wax the base and you will see the inserts "ghost" through the base of the board.
Tatoos
I'm afraid that will not work without Kessler Plate System ....

skandinavec
Thanks for all the responses ... I did contact Hansjorg Kessler and he will give me the insert specs when he finds them. Thanks again.
Seb
You can also rub the base with Ice cubes and it will show you where they are.
