Gcarve
Heading up for some spring riding with a few friends. Anyone else heading up?
Miltie
Gcarve, I was just up there earlier this week. Received some fresh snow so it was like mashed potatos the first few days. Recommend you base out of Stump Alley or Main Lodge for the best snow. Have fun and watch the soft snow in the afternoons - easy to stuff the nose. Have fun and enjoy your spring riding. Gcarve
Thanks Tom. Looks like a storm is in the cards for the first day or two, followed by some spring sunshine. Should be fun!
nekdut
Here right now, the plan is follow the sun. Park at stump but take 10 up and ride Canyon early (Eagle is done, forget it). As things warm up head towards main then head up to the top and backside. There is still lots of really good riding and excellent coverage. MTB_DH11
Have fun up there Gcarve. I am trying to get at least one more 2-day trip in this season to Mammoth. Hope it happens. Not ready to give up on winter yet! Anyone interested? Rack em/pack em into Motel 6. Cheap lodging, two days boarding, home Sunday night by 8pm at the latest. Lance, George????? Gcarve
Warmer day today. Good snow for carving everywhere in the morning. Lower mountain got fairly slushy by noon. Tomorrow is forecasted to be even warmer.
Gcarve
Picture of Stump Alley from 4/10. Perfect blue bird day, minimal crowd, good carving until 11:30am
MTB_DH11
Sweet pic Gcarve! Man, I wish I was up there for that. Having a "I need to snowboard anxiety attack" looking at this picture! Have not been on the snow in almost 4 weeks. Our So Cal local winter was stolen from us this year by the dreaded pre-summer, summertime we are having. It is hot enough here in the real summer. We don't need it this hot in what is supposed to be spring. Enjoy Mammoth if you can get up there. It looks great! Still trying to make it up soon.
