wantok
Interesting shot on Sigi Grabner's site. FIS has golden girl Caroline Calve (CAN) slalom video on it. Reminiscent of the WC moguls course at COP (Canada Olympic Park) ..., crossed with a roller coaster. http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.sigigrabner.com/uploads/Rampe.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.sigigrabner.com/&usg=__py7-OgH3qapr-Y1PQU5KItMwxBE=&h=995&w=1072&sz=394&hl=en&start=37&zoom=1&tbnid=KTiBdEAAST2gcM:&tbnh=139&tbnw=150&ei=CTwsUffqFsWYiQKshYDgAg&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dmoscow%2Bramp%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Den%26tbm%3Disch%26prmd%3Divns&itbs=1&sa=X&ved=0CEkQrQMwEDgU
snowmatic
I counted 14 gates and Detkov makes local volks happy. Kummer takes one more crystal globe. Was that realy in town of Moscow? As I saw all that everywhere banners with Jeep advertisements, I thought ramp was located at Toledo (Ohio). Yes, snow-ramps are sometimes popular for city-events like at autumn days or during wintertime. Even bigger sporting goods stores offer such ramp for shows and to the customers for Freestyle-snowboarding and freeskiing on so called winter-pre-sales event. Most time they are only at half to 2/3 of that high like Moscow. Almost snow for that comes from the countles hockey icefields around by trucks. Michelle
It was an 18 second course, with a giant flat part in the middle. They also used it for big air the day before. The athletes had no chance to do any training on it, and they went up to the top in a construction elevator. I hear it was terrifying, so Kudos to all that raced!! smaynard
The burm in the middle looked scary. Racers were getting airborne off it! Kudos to all US competitors but especially Justin for taking fourth. Go steamboat!
bigwavedave
Kudos to all US competitors but especially Justin for taking fourth. Go steamboat! And to Mimi, as the sole US woman on the tour, for her first time making a world cup finals and finishing 14th! ~bigwavedave, aka MD (Mimi's Dad)
bigwavedave
Video of Moscow ramp women's finals from Eurosport: Why are US companies like GE and Colgate sponsoring alpine snowboard races and athletes in Europe and not in the US?
