piusthedrcarve
PyeongChang, S. Korea has been chosen to host 2018 Winter Olympics over Munich, Germany, and Annecy, France. http://www.cnn.com/2011/SPORT/07/06/olympics.winter.pyeongchang.2018/index.html?eref=mrss_igoogle_world PyeongChang has 3 big resorts near by and each facility will host some downhill competitions: YongPyong where hosted many international winter sport competitions over 20 years and will host most downhill GS/SL competitions Pheonix Park where will host freestyle, half-pipe, SBX competitions Alpensia Resort where will do opening and closing celemonies and Ski Jump competition. Alpine snowboarding in Korea is much popular than here in U.S. and hosting a Winter Olympic will boost interest on alpine snowboarding more. philw
Kimchi and snow... that'd be cool. I like this from one of those links: "Please consider the opinions of advanced skiers. Advanced skiers tend to have a lot of experience not only in terms of skill but in how to act in ski areas. If an advanced skier tells a beginner to use an easier slope first to build skill before taking on a more difficult slope, it would be a good idea to follow that advice."
