Flywalker
A comment was made in an earlier thread that the rear and front binding angles should be within 5 degrees of each other on a carving board. I am curious to know the reasoning behind this statement. I rode 48B/57F for 16 years and it was very comfortable. Now l am riding 47B/57F and it is also very comfortable. Just wondering what the advantages would be if l narrowed the margin between them. Thanks (^_^)
BobD
Most people's feet are splayed. That is, the ankle is not in line with the knee, with the feet pointing outwards to some degree. Unlike skiing, snowboard stances allow for this natural splay. Canting can modify the amount of splay needed in a set up. A good stance allows these joints to flex naturally. Masahiko
Hi , The dimension of the joints depend on person to person .:) I think you don't have to concern about it . My angle is 55 / 48 sometimes 55/45 .
omskates
I think bow legged vs knock kneed plays a part in canting options. Angles may depend on carving style and whether you prefer more pressure on ankles or shins. http://www.alpinecarving.com/binding_setup.html
