jjfarbs
Am I screwed - will post pics as soon as I can. A small but growing crack is appearing between the base and the board - not a delam of the top sheet but a separation between board and base. newcarver
What board is it? I've got a cap construction Oxygen Apex that has a crack between the metal edge and where it was pressed together. I've been riding it like that with no problems so far. I melt wax over the crack when I tune to keep it sealed up. I use the board for carving, tight trees, steeps, and powder. Is my cheap rockboard, but performs well. I was thinking of trying to get some epoxy in the crack and then clamping it together. If you happen to hit the edge on anything where the crack is, it might lead to a complete failure. But, so far, normal riding has not been a problem.
tpalka
Not sure if this is the same issue I had, but here's a thread with some pics and the way I fixed mine... http://www.bomberonline.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=15426 HTH, tom. tpalka
Mine was caused by doing lots of tail-spins / pirouettes and nose-rolls, not really what the board was made for :) Using the two-part marine epoxy (long curing time, not 5 minute), working it in between the edge and the base, then clamping the whole thing down for a night in a warm place has been working well. I've had a few more of those repairs to do in different spots. You might also take some photos and contact Prior -- it could be worth sending the board to them for a professional fix?
