Virus side cut radius

A fellow carver wrote that his Virus has a different side cut radius setup than a conventional board. he claimed that there is up to 8 different side cut radius incorporated in Virus boards so that they can make small and big carve turns. Can someone explain how that (if) technically is possible? or any information regarding side cut radius on Virus boards? I couldn't find much information on their homepage.

thanks,

Good question...

Seems to me that if I'm carving at an X meter radius, I want the whole edge working on that X meter turn - not the nose trying carve X+1 while the tail tries to carve X-1. If different parts of the edge are trying to carve different radii, there has to be some skidding going on.

I suppose there could be a reason deviate from that just a bit in order to accomodate nonlinearities in the board's flex. For example if putting the middle of the board at 45 degrees means the tip and tail are only at 40 due to torsional flex, then it might make sense for the curvature to tighten up just a little bit at the ends.

thanks,

It's called compound radius sidecuts...Other than Elipticals I'm suspect about any sidecut except straight radii
