utahdeafcarver
Saw that crash! No fun! Back in 2001 (I think it was), I was videotaping an FIS PGS race at Park City. I was on the downhill side of the course near a photographer. I was on the course illegally, but because I had my team jacket on and a camera, no one said anything. One of the female racers came flying off the course and was less than one foot away from crashing into me. At the speed she was going, it wouldn't have been fun to crash into me. There was also no time to move out of the way. Close call! I feel bad for that course worker on skis who got hammered. Glad all are okay. kinpa
I saw that too.... wasn't there a male who went into the netting at the exact same spot? Wonder what was the problem at that gate.

Wonder what was the problem at that gate. I think it was either Sigi or Karl who did that. I saved it on my DVR so I'll have to go back and see. Either way, both were heelside hookups that went all wrong.

Wonder what was the problem at that gate. I think the snow right there just throws you into a heel side turn (if you are regular) and the snow must just be weird so they can't slide it out or anything. You know what I mean, that has happened to me a few times to me where i just can't release the edge.

Karl got caught in the same place. He saved it but wasn't able to turn tight enough to avoid the netting.
