DiveBomber
Just picked up a cheap burton, but the stance is to narrow, any arguments as to adding the inserts to the front or the rear?? stance pattern is 25 back, from the factory. I need to add 1" (25mm)

SEJ
T nuts. You can buy them with Ptex on the bottom. I wouldn't do it to a valuable board, but an old Burton?
DiveBomber
I know how to add them just trying to decide on the front or the back. only have OS1's a vist plate on a burton??? seriously?
DiveBomber
As long as the board is 19cm wide and has inserts (4x) it'll go on and it allows a lot more range, I can get 21 3/4th's with F2's and 22 1/2+ with OS2's, just pointing it out, the board you use is not the issue. do you really think im going to buy a $500 plate to put on a $50 board?????? emorris
I found this at Tognar. http://tognar.com/base_repair_tools_iron_ptex_gouges_damage.html Black Metal grip Repair String <table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td><!-- InstanceEndEditable --> </td> <td bgcolor="#cccccc"> <!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="item price" -->Item #SPK-560336: $6.95 roll</td></tr></tbody></table> Its about 1/4 of the way down from the top. There is a mention of repairing holes from t-nuts here: http://www.make-digital.com/make/vol20/?pg=
Ironbird
Personally I would only do one side, and would go back. By doing so you minimize the amount of t-nuts added - two instaed of four based on the 3D pattern. Also I would maintain the setback and prefer a minor weight shift towards the tail vs the nose. Really you're only looking at about 1/2 inch shift to center of weight. Never have augered over the tail from too much pressure, can't say the same for the nose.
