Dave ESPI
Something I came across while doing some work related training videos... SMOKERS: In addition to the dangers smoking poses to your health, it also contributes to low back pain. In fact, smokers are up to 2.7 times more likely to develop low back pain compared to non-smokers. Smoking also contributes to the decay of the spinal discs. The carbon monoxide in cigarette smoke interferes with the blood's ability to deliver oxygen to the muscles, bones, ligaments and tendons of the back. The nicotine causes the walls of the blood vessels to thicken, contributing to restricted blood flow to the lower back. The combined lack of oxygen and loss of nutrients weakens the back and compromises its healing capabilities when an injury occurs. If you are a smoker who is experiencing low back pain, consider quitting. The benefits to your back and your health are worth it.
Cindy Kleh
Interesting. Any medical evidence of what smoking pot does to you?
ecshredder
I bought a muscle stimulator and I swear by it. Using it periodically allows my back to loosen up to where I can do my own adjustments. I'm sure chiropractic would work too.
