TD3 Step Ins or Standard?

Recommended Posts

This is my first year on an Alpine board. I just bought a 173 Volkl from PCDenver, and a set of last years Head Stratos Pro boots. Now i need bindings.

I like the set it and forget it reputation of the TD series bindings, and i was thinking about picking up a set of TD3s. I just don't know if i should get the standards or step ins. And if i go step ins, do I need so get anything else to make them compatable with my boot?

I'd love some oppinions and info. Thanks,

Alex

Oh boy, "step-in vs. standard" ought to get this group going...

AHilshey, I ride standard (TD2 and OS2). I love them. But, I have never ridden step-ins. Folks say step-ins are much more stiff (laterally).

That this is your first year on plates could be important - step-ins could seem extremely stiff.

To folks who have ridden both: What do you think and why?

Next question: Anyone start on standard, go to step-in and go back to standard? If so, why? That, AHilshey, is an opinion I would want to hear.

Colin
