NMU Alpine Boarder
Think we'll beat the Northeast to the slopes this year
Mellow Yellow
I predict that Cataloochee will beat the northeast and beat out or come very close to beating our western friends...

Mellow Yellow
Loveland doesn't count... ;) But lets see... I think if the jet streamstays where it is for the next few months... Cat may open before Loveland...
WRXRacer111
There's an artificial ski slope in Lynchburg, VA near Liberty University... http://www.liberty.edu/snowflex/ I'm really curious to know if you can 'carve' on it, ie it has something to dig into and provide edge hold. In the meanwhile I guess I have a little while to figure out what to do to replace my busted boots.
Tick
As it's pretty close to us, a few friends of mine went a few weeks ago. Their assessment was if you don't like hitting terrain features it's not realy worth it. Definitely NOT carve-able. Mostly sliding turns. You have to wear long pants and sleves or you'll get some pretty bad "rug burn" when you fall. I know another person who broke their wrist, but that could quite possibly be user error. Been wanting to go myslef just haven't found time yet!
wvrocks
In the meanwhile I guess I have a little while to figure out what to do to replace my busted boots. Which boots and what size? I just got new boots last season and might be able to help you out. My old boots were Raichle 413's size 29.
