eastcoasticerider
where Can I get into a reasonable slalom board for a 225 lb.er I.m thinking just some fun parking lot riding around cones to get started but would like a flexible deck if possible for my weight.reasonable quality. maybe a pintail longboard. :D
pokkis
Pintail longboard and slalom board really dont fit on same page. Basic combo for slalom is Tracker RTS/RTX and for beginner i would say HS size slalom board with standard Tracker bushings. When you get used to board then you can switch for softer front bushings. Gecko
Sk8kings has very good starter packages, the aforementioned Tracker RTX/S setup on a Hybrid Slalom board is about all any beginner needs

pokkis
Yeah, luckily it is very hard to spend for full slalom setup even same ammount money than just for good carving board

If you end up going the route of putting your setup together yourself, consider these guys too: http://www.fullbagskates.com Pavel also made a run of great, affordable wood decks in the US, but I'm not sure what kind of availability there is on those. I could put you in contact with one of their US reps if you'd like more info. Their website is currently under construction, but just in case: http://www.pavel-skates.com/neu/index.php
Gecko
that Gecko setup is probably more expensive than my coiler setup was (to me anyway) I went the Fulbag route, Mig (the owner) is awesome and the board I got is top notch and durable as hell, Plus the new Louis Ricard looks awesome...started with a pair of Indy 101's wedged and dewedged, picked up a Chicken offset Indy and sent my spare to Geezer for tweaking...picked up a Splitfifire and sold the Chindy with the remaining Indy. You could order all the components from sk8kings and a board from whomever you want (a good way to get the right componants). BTW Bombers own Glen Chapman's toestops are for sale at sk8kings, they are worth every penny as anyone who has one will say BTW Mig Marco is a big guy his boards are made for big guys

The tip-to-tail concave is way cool. They're a little more pricey, than the Sk8kings decks, so take my $.02 for what it's worth.
