bobdea
I had a cheapo electric glider given to me and I like it. Thinking of getting a DLG or something that is not such a rock as this thing. my dad was into RC in the 60s and 70's, still have wing jigs and other assorted things around. even a few engines but nitros are not my bag really, hate the effin' sound of them. KingCrimson
Ohhhh baby a 1/2a nitro at 25k RPM! How can you not love that sound?! Travels a frickin mile. DLGs are fun until the first time you fly them..then you learn how well you built it. Why not start with something foam and cheap to figure out if you like it? Easy repairs too! Just some acetone on a q-tip and melt it back together! Trying to get into hobbies other than swearing for when the youngun comes around? Kimo
Fly paper airplanes and spend all your extra cash on carving. R/C aircraft is a better spectator sport than a participant sport because you don't have to cry when that expensive little plane augers into the dirt. Hell, you might even think the carnage is cool. IMHO. ps I have completed one slope soarer "the Ninja". Too bad I didn't know a thing about flying. I think I broke in half 3 times before I retired it to hang in perpetuity from the ceiling in my room at my parents house. Rambling on... if you want to fly something cool... did you know Google Earth now has a flight simulator embedded in it. Photo real terrain maps. Awesome. Try flying my old neighborhood, zip 96744. Fascinating.
