John E
Have you heard of the hysteria over the graphics on the new Burton Love board? Evidently, protestors have been outside the Burton factory in Vermont, several east coast areas have banned their employees from riding these boards as well as some in Colorado (e.g. Vail). I heard of the controversy and checked out the Burton website to see what it was all about. Pretty tame I thought: http://www.burton.com/Gear/Default.aspx?gclid=CKqH8MOIz5YCFQFqxwodqiM4xg#/gear/productdetail/mens/boards/10419/206851000155/ I always thought that Playboy centerfolds and snowboard graphics would be a marriage made in heaven. Evidently, brilliant minds think alike. The biggest problem might be that foot placement would likely be in exactly the wrong places. This seems to be another case of political correctness run amok. The main benefactor will be Burton. When boarders find out they can offend the areas by riding one of these, demand will outstrip supply. Maybe some alpine board manufacturer will find a new way to get attention.
