big mario
Just got back from a short day on the white ribbon of death, and it was quite pleasant. Snowboarder Pete and myself enjoyed 3 astoundingly empty runs before the race teams, jibbers, b-liners, and clueless showed up. We still found a few decent windows for the next 2 runs, but after that it was starting to get a bit crazy, so we pulled the plug. The snow was suprisingly good, and the coverage was exceptional, though runs were on the narrow side. I wouldn't hesitate to take my best board out, I wouldn't worry about my base, but the race teams and kooks make me nervous. Stats for day one: 5 runs/5000 vertical, most excellent turns on my favorite heelside: 3/5, Good linked turns: whole herds. Big A$$ grin: still got it. Every one have a safe, and fun season! mario
AccidentalChef
Glad you had a good opener Mario. I had a bbq here last night, and just wasn't going to make it out that early this morning. I'm thinking about heading up tomorrow in an effort to avoid the crowds. There were way too many jibbers on Wednesday too. Any idea when the park opens and we don't have to deal with them?

boarderboy
First day back on a skateboard in many years, that is... Son RipStiked, as we enjoyed the first Autumn "cold", with the possibility of first frost tonight. Lots of firsts, and very good times... Peace and happiness to all! AaronG
Mario, let me just say that I am extreeeeeeeemely envious of you. It's the middle of October and you're already cranking turns!! Here in SoCal today it was 88 and back into the 90s during the middle of the week. The local resorts haven't even thought about blowing snow. Snow Summit is still running the mtn bike chair!! Crank a few turns for me will ya?? Aaron
