big mario
Bluebird and mario endo's, minor fleshwounds Ac did the mtb equivlent of going to the top of Ruthies for the first time in hardboots and surviving. Derek was the only one that didn't leave a lung on the trail. life is good. mario
AccidentalChef
Awesome ride, even though I was hating life the last 5-10 minutes before the top of the trail. I'm in a lot less pain today than I expected, but then I slept over 12 hours last night so maybe that had something to do with it. Can't wait to get out again, though hopefully a slightly mellower trail next time. It's gonna be a couple of days before I can sit on the saddle (or anything else) again without wanting to cry, though. :o
inkaholic
Technical, tough, fun ride! Mario's swan dive to chest was impressive from a few feet behind and I was just ahead of Bluebirds 6' above the deck hover but I hear it was very impressive. Great job completing the ride AC, bring water next time though. TVR and Iceman, good to see you again. Next ride: maybe my backyard? Not as technical, more up/down/up/down instead of up/down. Just a suggestion. Ink Missed ya D.T. - We will ride again in the near future!

D.T.
Missed ya D.T. - We will ride again in the near future!I was too busy riding the elephant crock with over 7,000 other people. You guys up for a ride on Sunday? I am dropping Shelly off in Bergen Park Sunday morning. She's training for the Triple; riding over Squaw, down to Idaho Springs and back. Translation, I will be in Evergreen for the day with nothing to do if you gents feel like riding.:D I might have the dogs with me, but they can hang in the truck for a couple of hours as long as it's not too hot outside. AccidentalChef
I've got company in town this weekend, so biking is out for me. That's probably a good thing, though. I'm trying to ride as much as I can around here, plus do some running and swimming, to get my lungs working reasonably well. I've also got to pick up either a couple water bottles and cages or a camelback as soon as I can so maybe I can actually enjoy more of the ride. Maybe I'll be ready for a slightly smoother and mellower ride a week from Sunday. I gotta admit, all those rocks sticking up out of the trail on Apex made me a bit nervous, with such limited recent experience on a bike. inkaholic
I have to work on sunday and saturday is National Trails Day so I will be working on the Colorado Trail most of the day. Now I'm bummed. :( If the Mario gig doesn't pan out you could always take Kai to the skatepark to have him show you how it's done. Or you could park at our house, visit with the family then ride out the backyard. Ink
AccidentalChef
I was just doing some google searching for trails in Denver I can ride around on and get used to the bike and the clipless pedals. Any ideas what are some good ones I could check out? Something with a few hills here and there would be nice, so I can get the legs working a bit more. D.T.
Why aren't you training with her D?f*#$ that! You guys should grab your pond skimmers and head to the Basin with us!! You're crazy! That season is over. Saturday's plan is ~20 miles on the road bike doing a climbing workout, then hit the whitewater park in Golden for a couple hour kayaking session, a visit "The Salesman" in Boulder, then an outdoor birthday party, complete with the bouncy castle, for a four year old, then an evening with the guys watching the UFC fights. Sunday will be spent doing the death march with Mario, Sean and anyone else that joins us, then taking the pups to the dog park, followed by firing up the BBQ and lounging on the deck. Granted, I'm sure lounging on your deck would be more pleasant to the senses, but I'll take what I can get. If it was still winter... the plan would be Saturday - Loveland followed by Sunday - Loveland!
