KingCrimson
Don't know why anyone would want this, but it's a DIN sole Snowboard boot. Or a soft Ski boot, whichever way you want to look at it. Curious little thing.. "Skiboard" boot, apparently.. http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/jewelrybox2008/product-detailQounREqAuLcS/China-Skiboard-Boot-JX-005-.html
NateW
I wonder if the sole is stiff enough to work with regular hardboot bindings. The boot looks like an odd combination of snowboard boot (strap/ratchert) and mountaineering boot (sole lugs, crampon ledges over the toe and heel). I also wonder if the designer or marketer (or whoever wrote the text for that page) has any experience using this boot for snowboarding... or using any boot for snowboarding, for that matter. You never know. :) See also: they make a ski boot.
crucible
That sucker looks like an accident waiting to happen- a classic design example of trying too hard to do everything well.
KingCrimson
Based on their Ski boot, they aren't actually trying much at all. Oh well. Just thought it was interesting, the Skiboard word caught my eye. CHEAP CHINESE ALPINE SNOWBOARDS?!?!? I'LL BUY! Too bad it was a snowskiDINlamewhatever boot. bobdea
it's a skiboard boot AKA snowblade, snowblade is owned by solomon just like inline skates are called inline skates not rollerblades unless they are the rollerblade brand. that boot will work in a plate binding, also there are skiboard versions of the head/blax boots and the raichle/deeluxe boots in skiboard versions in din and a few rare cases of intec compatible http://www.skiboards.com/orientation/newtoskiboarding.html/ I think short skis are gheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey but ohh well, let thing think it's a unique sport
KingCrimson
Gotchya. According to lift line threads, I figured skiboard was a common misnomer for an HB setup. Not that those guys would get that stuff wrong, they clearly have their **** together.
KingCrimson
Yeah, watching someone on those suckers going down a steep icy hill is quite depressing. http://www.skiboards.com/product/journey-87cm-hemp-topsheet-used.html Look at those! Dream skis! Journey AND pot!
