photodad2001
It's Saturday night and I went to my church's Saturday night service expecting the traditional "Easter" service. Fortunately, that did not happen. Instead I was hit with a profound message of life. A photo of a grave stone was shown. We've all been to a cemetary, we've all been to a funeral, we've all seen the typical plot of a loved one who has passed on... but I haven't looked at it this way before. On the Gravestone there are two numbers. One is the date of birth, the other is the date of death. Between those two numbers is a dash. The two numbers are insignificant, they mean nothing. They are just dates. What really matters is the dash. What happened between those dates. All that embodies a person is summed up into a small thin line engraved on a tombstone. What are you going to do with that small thin line? It's also fitting that such a thin small line encompasses the time we are here. The pastor went on to discuss the first words that were spoke at the empty tomb. "Don't be afraid". He then went on to show a t-shirt and a hat that had writen on them... "NO FEAR". We've all at one time or another said, "Go big or go home!" You could also say "Quit or Commit". You know what I'm saying. We've all stood looking down hill, thinking "I can't do it". Well that's life, and what we choose to do after that is similar to how we live our lives. I could preach on and get into Theology right now, but I'm just going to let you all think about these things. What if we lived our lives like we look at at our next run. What if we applied ourselves in our relationships, our work, our self-developement, as we do our progression on the slope? "We're nothing more than a small thin line"
